  1. Matt Black is the (un)official colour of the back-street racer! Where you're playing a constant losing game with 'mechanical attrition'. Why bother painting the 'sumbitch' when there's money to be spent on go-fast bits [and you always ruin the paint by pullin' the engine with a rope tied to a tree "Matt Black suits an E30 street warrior more than a 1950's finned dinosaur"
  2. Matt black that is finished smooth looks bullshit! What it needs is 'bog file' and 80 grit sanding marks under the paint, plus a couple of decals on the front guards and a Number written on the rear quarter windows in white shoe polish . Then to add a touch of reality, you need some greasy paw marks all around the engine bay/fenders & on the seat where your girlfriend sits in her white shorts [a test of true love] Thats the "Back Street Hero" look

    M325

Buy Gus's so he can 'invest' the money into a race-car [He'll also need a driver, because MANZ won't issue a race license to an unlicensed driver! hint!]
  4. If you locked the vanos you'll lose HP somewhere in the rev range [depending on where you degree the cams] BMW used the vanos so they could use a shorter duration cam [and not lose power]
  5. Usually around $2k, I've done the conversion myself I took about a week to do it [after hours, during winter ,outside in my driveway] It really changes the car, you won't regret it!
  6. A couple of squirts of oil down the plug holes ,then compression check it again [oil acts as a temporary ring seal] If it regains compression then the rings weren't sealing or worn. If the readings stay the same it's usually valves that are leaking [Oil down the plug holes leaves the valves dry]

    car covers

Car Covers are abrasive on the paint. I only use them indoors [no wind] the best ones that breathe aren't too flash in the waterproofing dept [waterproof covers hold condensation] Get some calico sheets and leave your car in a garage
  8. And they reckon "Romance and Chivalry" is dead!
  9. Instead of going to all this trouble with wasting $$$ on an expensive 'pump' [remember bottled water is more expensive/litre than Race-Gas] just smuggle the sh*t in your stomach. Get totally Rat-Arsed, then the hangover lasts all day long[8 hours value for $$$]
  10. Looks like the BBS rims on my car are now worth more than the whole car Seriously though, they'll be making profit on the wheels. It will be the day-to-day running of the company thats sinking them [uSA Co's have the same problem, & we're chasing them fast] Another Co will buy all the assets [incl the name]& keep going [minus the liabilities] "the good ol corporate sidestep"
  11. 90% of Vented Rotors are Straight Vane [easier to manufacture] but the same principles apply. I can only assume Brembos comments are in relation to the using of a backing plate [where air enters from the outside and moves towards the centre]
  12. F**k Marrying That! He should get out now while he can. At least she only used the scissors on herself [so far]

    Mind Stickers

Yeah especially those from down south Hahaha! [don't mess with their wheels]
  14. Mine Isn't confusion Mate! I stated that on curved vane [with vented rotors] it is opposite because of a cooling system [similar to a centrifugal impellor] Slots on rotors serve two purposes:[the vanes are for cooling] 1: to clean residue 2: more importantly remove the gas build-up between the pad & rotor [commonly known as Green-Fade] When Brembo makes a statement, they are using their products are a direct replacement for stock rotors [so I'd assume the backing plate is left intact, which changes airflow compared with ducting]
  15. Yuen is correct [Accordng to the Brembo article] On my race car, I have Curved Vane Rotors [vented], the brake cooling ducts go to the centre of the rotor and the directional spinning acts like a cooling fan in the rotor [early 80's F1 cars had wheels that were similar] so on my race car the answer would be 'A'
  16. If it has the ZF trans it'll hold, so will a stock clutch [if treated right] Drag Racing is brutal on the clutch, Circuit racing is a little bit easier.[if you are locking the diff for a street car, then get some driving lessons first] All road cars have understeer designed into the handling,so when "Joe Public" gets out of shape, he'll hit the brakes! You'll need to do some serious adjustments to the 'Roll-Couple' to engineer the handling to prevent the understeer which is aggravated by a locked rear[the suspension mods cost the same as a LSD]
  17. Or with the 'spare change' you could spend getting totally shitfaced, [that'll make the 'Echo' look good] "I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me,Than a full frontal lobotomy"
  18. Don't waste your time gluing 'High density plastic'. Get it plastic welded, Most Motorcycle repair & bumper repair shops can do this [it lasts longer and is not much more expensive]
  19. This size wheels are common as! [E36's have the same stud pattern and offset as a Commodore] there are heaps of commodes driving 'round South Auckland with only 2 mags on [somebody must know where the other 2 are]
  20. Yeah Gareth, You now owe Will a Beer! I owe, I owe, So it's off to Will's I go!
  21. I'll have a complete M50B25 for sale in a couple of weeks [complete with manual loom & computer] It's from an E36 so you'll need an E34 Sump & pickup [easy 185-200hp]
  22. What a blatant misrepresentation under the "fair trading act" Buy a piece of sh*t Allegro to get the babe Hahahaha! I bet the advertising agency is no longer around now either
  23. Wrong Wrong! "It's beauty is in the eye of the BEERHOLDER" Hey JazzBass where did you find the Allegro pics? I thought "allegro" was on the 'Google blocked list' haha!
