I think the owner of this workshop has some serious smarts about him. He realised he was in a no win situation so just bit his tongue, gave the guy a free groom and said sorry, making his business look professional and responsible. Now the REA looks like the wanker he is, since he has gone to the press over literally nothing.

The dealer that sold the car for $1, got far more publicity than they could have bought for the measly profit made on that trade in by honoring the deal and it going all over social media and the newspapers.

To clarify the cert thing for the engine swap, there is no 25% power increase rule on engine swaps. That is for modifying the original engine. If it has a bigger engine, it needs a cert. The end.

My father and I rewired the ABS control module ourselves when we got the ABS light on the dash in our old E36. Found the wiring diagram online, ripped the old crusty and broken cellophane wiring out and rewired it. Cost us a tiny bit of solder, some wire and time to remove, refit and bleed brakes.

Putting my Clio up for sale as I want a bigger car that I can tow with. Will get new photos and put the car on Trademe this weekend. Its silver, 132kms, well serviced and generally very tidy. Its a daily driver that does ~300km a week so its not immaculate but it is very tidy. Auto on headlights, rain sensing wipers, 6 stack cd, A/C etc. Its de catted, but otherwise standard. Cambelt, waterpump, aux belt all done at 85,000km. About six month old Toyo Proxes all round, new front brake rotors and pads all round when the new tyres went on. Brand new battery as of about two weeks ago. New WOF. Reg till end of August.
