Speaking of your race car Andrew, will it be ready for September, this year?
  2. Yeah, Stu and I were partners, we split about 8 yrs ago. We did things in those days that you wouldn't even think of today.

Kym, depends on budget. IMHO best would be upgrade to M30b35, same box etc, gives you extra 48hp. If you don't want to go that far, I'd be looking at a mild cam, 284 maybe, and a reprogrammed chip. Should give you maybe 25 to 30hp, and if you do some yourself maybe $2000 or thereabouts?
  4. Are you talking about the old ARC/ Vodafone reclad at the motorway ramp top of Hobson? My company did the install on that, about 12 to 15 years ago I guess. Did it out of swinging stages.
  5. Thanks Guys, someone had to put a number up, didn't they? See some of you tomorrow night at the BMWCC AGM I guess?
  6. Stretch gauge Jimmy? Isn't this just like our bolts where you tighten them to a set torque, and then finish them off with a degree turn, like 30 degrees etc? I just cut a circle of cardboard and marked the degrees on it and away I went. I can't imagine any other way to measure stretch?
  7. Yeah, do a bit of signage. Nice stuff to work with, very clean.
  8. Self employed for most of my life, can't imagine working for someone again. Fabricate and install Aluminium composite panel on commercial Buildings. Everyday drive's an Isuzu Elf 250, site meetings etc. get to take the E28 M535i.
  9. Only need one thanks, 1957 Ferrari Testa Rossa Cheers.
  10. Says it all when asked what now for the car, " A few trips here and there, whatever proves it's the Ultimate Driving Machine. I'm no curator." Use it or lose it.
  11. Didn't realise we had some dwarf members on this forum?
  12. Run the Miss World Teen Competition. Ride: Chevy van, with a mattress.

  14. Certainly living up to your ride Tony.
  15. Welcome Jared, your uncle is the man when it comes to tuning BMW's.
  16. Hahaha I want some of what you're on tonight please Ollie?
  17. Wouldn't have expected any less from you Paul.
  18. 17mm ring spanner will go up there easy.
  19. Ok, so you've taken the 2 big subframe nuts off, and the plates on each side which fix back to the sill, and removed the driveshaft? Chances are that it's just binding a little, chuck your jack back under the diff and take the load off it, ie jack it up until it's about level. Then just shake it all about, and try to lever the sides where the big bushes are, it should come down fairly easily if it's straight, let the jack down as the front comes down.
  20. If it's the M40 engine then it's probably the hydraulic lifters. If you don't get them fixed, either cleaned out or replaced it will eventually lead to a worn cam and a very sick motor. Would pay to get them checked.
  21. Lost mine completely on Saturday morn for 4 hrs, telecom have a fairly major router problem I'm told. Typical.
