  1. What was the actual fault code ? "actual words" was the fault code present or historical ? The fault code may have been the "result of " which is quite common...often the fault code you get is the result of something else not working correctly ie: another component that cant be monitored by the DME...its usually a mechanical fault

  4. Yes there is urgency... they disintergrate if left on in a worn condition. You'll end up with a mess of belts, broken fan blade and possibly a damaged radiator.

    M20 camshafts

There are alot of variations dependant on which country, year and with cat or without cat ETK does not give the differences...just the different part numbers. Some BMW's have different camshafts for manual & auto as well... more overlap on manuals. If you use the manual camshaft in an auto they tend to stall at idle in gear. Got caught with this years ago.
  14. I threw 2 in the bin a few months ago because no one wanted them Anything else you might need ??
  15. You dont take the manifold off when you have the right tools, just the air box and induction hoses. Just get your insurance company to deal with it.... thats why youve got it

    Cambelt change ?

Cambelts get done every 60,000km or 5 years on an M20. The belt noise is probably one of your fan belts. The idling issue will either be an air leak, ICV or fuel mixture. Tight tappets can also give idling issues
  17. We just fitted a medium case LSD 373:1 diff & 325 MS axles in a E36 M42 Getrag 250 for Roshen, a BS member. Thats the ratio you should go for..... just road tested it 3,200 RPM @ 100kph... I'd like it a bit lower than that
  18. I'd fit a medium case LSD with E30 325Ms axles... I'd also go about 3.5:1 or 3.7:1... depending on what gearbox you end up using
  19. All E30 & E36 Ti's are the same bolt pattern
  20. Ooops....no .... different M42 & M44 are the same.... I missread it
  21. They also get rust in that corner behind the fuse box where the wiring loom goes through the firewall and under the windscreen rubber
