I've never done one... I would assume (bad word) Centre console Switches Wiring loom Control unit Door looms Motors Regulators Door cards ? Could need more bits....not sure Buy a shitter and rip out all the bits you need

If the heater fan doesnt work as well check systems voltage at the violet (accessory) wires on the ignition switch. Failing that check systems voltage on the supply at the back of the unit. If you have systems voltage there it'll be the unit. I think its fuse 41 in the fuse box. Check voltage on both sides of the fuse. Use a multimeter not a test light

I found that too...did you not read "no longer in operation" ??

I fitted a 2nd hand one yesterday off an E46 to the Compact....works a treat and very good quality stainless. I take it that Sebring is a division of Chrysler. The Muffler was a perfect fit on the E46 with all OEM type brackets and flanges Damned if I can find a supplier... could someone else try finding a supplier ???

Sod .... I wonder if he does ?

Nothing good or right comes "cheap" Do it right once Either get the right clutch made up by Autoclutch or buy one from overseas from someone like UUC Motorwerks

You took a risk opening it A moderator will ban the poster later

Finally got the noisey end sorted. Got sick of the drone in the rear and I couldnt buy a muffler to suit. I perked a Sebring 2 inlet, 2 outlet muffler off an E46 that was just the right length to fit the compact. Fitted it yesterday... and boy, what a difference.... I now have a radio Car just needs a good clean now for Saturday BTW: I tried googling for "Sebring" to find who sells them and couldnt find a supplier for BMW...anyone ??

All pre 1998 engine conversions are easy because of the electronics, after 1998 you would have to use a Link or similar ECU to run the engine with manual only.. the auto wont work. If you decide which engine you want...get the loom and ECU with it and go manual. If the engine was originaly hooked up to auto you can reflash the DME to manual. If going with a 6 cylinder, I would use a M52B28, V8 I'd go M60. May be a E34 M5 3.6 litre ??. Whichever way you go .... GO MANUAL Apart from that RESEARCH.....SEARCH.... RESEARCH and do the maths.... its not cheap

Dont use gasket goo.... use Trubond Eurothane sealant (grey or black) from Panelbeating Supplies in Auck. All surfaces must be perfectly clean and dry though. I covered this some time ago in a thread... some one might be able to find it for you. The cork gaskets they now supply end up cracking through the bolt holes and you end up with leaks again.

Additives can cause damage to the water pump seal and the auxillary water pump for the heating system. This could actualy end up costing him more if he doesnt fix it properly. For a temporary repair add a table spoon of mixed white pepper in water and add it to the cooling system when it is cold. This works, however he should get it repaired properly or it could end up being a major.

Have a look through here... its only for the big boys that are brave enough to own Compacts .. no 4 doors or other cars on this forum http://www.318ti.org/forum/index.php

I'll give you a link later that might help you to find mod gear for your car. Can't access it at the moment

+1 Welcome to the forum Take no notice of the "hairdresser" or "little girls car" comments. Compacts are capable ( very capable ) of surprising people... from one who knows BTW...are you coming on the Anzac day run ??....ooops, I see you dont get it till May

I'd go OEM or Brembo. I fitted sloted (undrilled) Brembo's to mine. Got them from Brake & Trans $160 ea. I'm running the Brembo's with OEM pads and there is a significant difference in the braking
