At the end of the day.... consider fitting a M52 B28 with manual & LSD. Less $$$ & so much more grunt + reliabilility If your budget is less than $15,000 to do it properly.. go buy a beer and watch the waves form My TI owes me in excess of $15,000. The car cost me $2,500 to buy with a stuffed gearbox. I've spent in excess of $12,000 and I still havent finished. That doesnt include labour. I've still got to do a manual conversion with UUC flywheel and fit an LSD which is probably going to set me back another $5,000 or more

I do this for a living... you dont need to listen...others might. The cork gaskets are hopeless
-
Try Brake & Trans or go OEM
-
Dont use a gasket...they only supply cork now & they split between the bolt holes. Clean thoroughly with white spirits and use Eurothane sealant.. Not silicon..you get it from Panel Beating supplies. Use the grey for a cleaner look. I've explained all this in a previous thread, someone might be able to dig it out for you. If you like...give me a call

I,m only a phone call away......always feel free to dial

I'm a bit lost here...I thought FTP meant Forgive Those People. I'm now thinking its something quite the opposite and quite unnecessary and also not condonded on this website. Please refrain from this, were only hearing one side of quite a story. Lets all get back on topic... Its about Europlates

E30 Steering universal Joint
*Glenn* replied to tibbs.james's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
I'm not sure that might work Ollie. The universal has to flex, you might find the eurothane will crack and eventually break. Eurothane is mainly used for static bushes -
+1 Merry Xmas everyone And please play safe

I totally agree, that the cost of these is rediculous.. If German plates can be made and purchased at such a low cost, why are we getting ripped off here ? However untill there is a law change or an investigation done, you will have to pay the price....either by buying NZ Plates or getting tickets. Either way it will cost if you want the Euro look. The police might even go so far as to impound your car too if you get too flippant with them. What Graham is doing, is great. Just hope something comes out of it all in the end. Then I'll go and buy mine

Check the shock insert caps for tightness too. Get someone to help you, get them to turn the steering, creating the noise and check where its coming from. -
E30 Steering universal Joint
*Glenn* replied to tibbs.james's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
You sure its not a slipping belt or the front springs binding and slipping it the spring plates Yes you can drive it without the power steering pump working...however I would be more inclined to find out whats wrong -
The seat has to come out to do both those jobs. I dont have a link to a tutorial. The repair is a bit complicated to explain. The fault with the seat drives is the outer cable on the drive that is effected has to be shortened, or a new cable needs to be fitted. Its no big deal when you know how though. Its a common problem. Its more easily shown than explained. Someone else might be able to help with a DIY link though.

Our locksmith still could have done that What is the trans fault ? did you have it scanned ?

Only the rubber coupling & bush are replaceable. The universal joints aren't
