Go for the Nexens. I've just put 4 on and I am really pleased with the result thanks to Johno

All sorted now. My Remington .17 magnum is now a .22 magnum Rebuilt by Remington Agents thanks to Ben Staessens @ Hunting & Fishing in Takanini which is now under new management. Great guys to deal with and very proffessional. The old management never sent me a recall notice All done at no cost Now I've just got to sight the scope and laser in again with the aid of the freebie targets WATCH OUT PUK's & MAGPIES !!!!!

Sounds very much like the thermostat. Use a genuine one, we have had problems with aftermarket ones and only use genuine now. Same with waterpumps. There's so much crap for sale in the market place. Dont take the risk, especially with cooling system components.

You can only buy the lense body... about $900 new. Shop around for a 2nd hand one If you have glass cover on your insurance policy it would be covered with no excess

I'm not sure about other vehicles.. Petrojet in Auckland should be able to tell you Ph. (09)4481071 The air mass sensor can be checked on the car using a scanner and reading live data, what is the problem ? & why did you take it off ??.......and dont try cleaning it with anything
-
Pardon ?? And I was not taking the piss... its the same as an injector seal BTW: its $10 now for a seal

Ring Barry Dierdriks @ Team McMillan Ph 5243311 Go genuine...they work properly Z3 1.9 Litre

I hope you fitted a new battery as well. Its normally the battery that causes the alternators to fail. We wont fit a new alternator without a new battery on the later model cars
-
We had a 2005 Audi in the other day with transmission problems. Turned out to be battery. Alternator was overcharging to try and keep battery voltage up and the trans computer didnt like it. New battery...all sorted BTW.. We have a customer with an E60 with the same problem with his I Drive, if he leaves the car without running it for a couple of days. He needs a new battery and refuses to fit a new one because the car still starts and the I Drive doesnt work untill its been driven for about 10-15 minutes... he just wont listen... however ....it will fail and possibly take out the alternator with it
-
You need a special battery charger for calcium type batteries. A standard charger wont do the job
-
I missed this thread.... Yes the alternator and battery will cause this problem, Non driveabilty a Non safety systems shut down to protect the vehicle so it can be driven with all safety features working.
-
I would still monitor the cooling system over the next couple of weeks though. Other components can be weakened due to the overheating and cause another problem within a short time...ie: headgaskets. Just check the cooling system occasionally for any water loss

Its the same seal the injectors use. I have them here...free if you want one

One Man's Crusade Against The Personalised Plates Monopoly
*Glenn* replied to bravo's topic in General Discussion
Ollie.....I think you'll find they are married to each other BTW. Good work Graham...keep us posted. If the prices come down I'll buy my plate -
I'd have to hear the noise before commenting. However the other problem relating to the trans...I suggest you get it checked by a professional. Sounds very much like the trans has an internal problem.
-
The washer pump is on the side of the washer bottle. Take the plug off and use a test light on the two terminals and get someone to operate the washers. If the test light glows, its the pump thats knackered
-
You will need to get it scanned first. Sounds like its in limp mode. It may or maynot be trans related. The scan will tell you.
-
Depends who you take it to...what area do you live in ??
-
You would also need to get the DME scanned, you could also have a sensor fault..It may not be the Vanos causing the problem.. I would take a guess at camshaft position sensor or AFM

The rifle is a Remington .17 Magnum I'm just glad that nothing else hapened, just scared me.....you are meant to be able to trust a firearm I've used Armourlites, AK47, SLR, 308, 9mm, 30 cal & 50 cal and never ever had something like this happen before I'll be looking forward to getting the replacement

Pukekos are barstards even tho they are native...they eat the quial, pheasant and duckling chicks. We also have very rare native frogs on the property and they eat them too. I hate the friggen things...they also wake me up at night We have heaps of Tui's, Pidgeons, Owls etc and the Magpies attack these and kill the youg birds
-
This morning I drove down my drive to have a go at a few magpies & pukekos that are giving the native birds a bit of sh*t. And the native birds , pheasants & quails will have chicks soon. 1 Shot.... Magpie 2 Shot.... Pukeko 3 Shot.... Pukeko 4 Shot........... "BANG" "f**k" Got hit in the hand when my gun exploded...... I'm OK though.. I had thick sleeved overhauls on... just a small cut to my wrist This also happened to my brother in law...we both have the same guns... his got fixed about 2 years ago...I've had mine for about 3.5 years I pick up all the pieces and head off to the place I bought it from and find out its a common problem & my rifle should have been recalled....... I am not a happy chappy... I dont want the fuken thing anymore. Anyway the resolution is to give me a new gun fitted into the old woodstock...the fault being a mixture of callibre, magazine, loading mechanism and chamber locking The guys who now own the gun shop were really great and offered all the info & help straight up The calliber also changes from .17 to .2 calliber The rifle is a Remington .17 Magnum So next week I should be getting it back with the .2 calliber upgrade that eliminates the design faults Scared sh*t out of me and the point is...it could have killed me or someone standing next to me What really pisses me off though..is the previous owners of the gun shop never informed me of the recall and my brother inlaws gun should never have been "fixed" Will see what happens
