Going by the colour of the oil, I would say it already had a cooling system problem, either cracked head or headgasket, and the conrod has bent due to No2 cylinder hydraulicing and then shot out the side of the block....coincidental that it happened after picking up from the pound. It was probably bound to happen anyway

E46's break the shafts in the external lock, sounds like this has happened...its an easy fix, new lock & recode by a locksmith. I can sort it for you

I'd been shopping in the afternoon with the girls and was a bit late meeting him, thought it might be that. The bar was really crowded and loud, so I suggested we go somewhere quieter to talk. He was still very subdued and distracted so I suggested we went somewhere nice to eat. All through dinner he just didn't seem himself - he hardly laughed and didn't seem to be paying any attention to me or to what I was saying, I just knew that something was wrong. He dropped me back home and I wondered if he was going to come in, He hesitated but followed. I asked him what was wrong, but he just half shook his head and turned the television on. After about ten minutes of silence I said that I was going upstairs to bed, I put my arms around him and told him that I loved him deeply, He just gave a sigh and a sad sort of smile. He didn't follow me up immediately but came up later and, to my surprise, we made love - but he still seemed distant and a bit cold. Just a thought Jeremy, have you thought about fitting a facelift front panel first ?? $170 for the panel (Am new) and about $100 to paint it, if you cant get a second hand one the same colour. Then fit the facelift kidney's. That's what I did. That's if money allows you to do it

Just thought I would pop this in here I recently have been involved in an investigation into a person who attempted to defraud an insurance company by making a false claim. NEVER, EVER attempt to do this, it can effect you worse than a criminal record. I have had a meeting this morning by an investigator for AMI into a matter that recently has happened with a BMW owner. The owner will now have all his insurance cancelled by AMI and will be entered into the "Insurance register" which basicly means he will no longer be able to get insurance FOR ANYTHING or from any other insurance company. I am not going to name this person, however I thought it might be a good idea to post something about it. Just dont even think about it or suggest it.... you are not invisible behind a nicname on the internet, if your on line, you have an IP address, which means you have an account, and you are able to be traced.

Are you sure it's not spillage from when the oil filter was changed ?? Clean off and check after a couple of days. Could be: Camshaft position sensor "O" ring Vanos hose or fittings Broken or cracked breather hose Or if its further down: Oil pressure switch Oil temp switch Oil filter remote housing gasket

Just to clarify... I've never done one, but I'm told the M5 & M6 SMG clutches are about $5-$6,000 to do Will find out at some stage when we end up doing one.. I might research it all on Monday and get actual prices, labour times etc.
