Ive never liked him and dont think I ever will, but the reality is that the sentence he received was fairly typical of cases that occur every single day. His high profile status means that he will suffer more than the 'average' person but he is not helping himself by coming out in every interview telling everyone how is was wronged and how he wanted his day in court. There is obviously more to this but the plea bargain was offered and he took it. To be honest, he doesnt sound like a man who has fully come to terms with what he's done, he may say he's apologised countless times and yes he has paid all sorts of medical and reparation costs, but he needs to keep his mouth shut now and learn something from the hours of counselling he is bound to be getting. If he does that and comes back a different man then fair play to him.

My mum is looking for facelift e39. Weve had Glenn check out a couple that she has found but they have been dogs to put it bluntly and so I was hoping someone might know of something. Happy to hear from any of our sponsor/dealers on the forum too if they have anything. Requirements are.... Facelift, 6 cylinder preferable but will consider a v8 if the price is right, Leather with wood trim, altough I could easily swap mine if she gets aluminium or something, Comfort seats preferably heated, MFSW, PDC, Fold in mirrors, Factory Xenon, she does alot of night driving in the Manawatu, Definitely not black or white, would be most interested in the reds/blues/greens (she is a grandmother after all !) Phone would be nice to hook up with bluetooth, as would tv but again not essential, nav to convert possibly, Rear blind, or legally tinted glass, Glass sunroof would be nice, Sports steering wheel, Not bothered about motorsport cars but if the car is good I might convince her to let me have the kit Big alloys not necessary, kms between 50k to 100k, but the lower the better. The car must be mint, inside and out. Im not interested in any repaired cars Looking in the 20k-25k price range. Now I know a lot about the value of these cars so please....no muppets trying to fob me off with anything thats way over priced. You would be amazed at what some people want for cars that frankly arent worth half what they are asking. Obviously we trawl TM and Autotrader regulary, but its not easy with me in Wellington and her in Palmerston North when all the cars appear to be in Auckland.

You guys crack me up. The pipe is only so big and can only carry so many people yet the people complaining the loudest are always those downloading the most ! The more people downloading the slower it will go, its obvious. There is no 'limiting' going on but there are 'fair play' rules in effect. I personally fail to see how anyone can download the sort of volumes your all talking about without 90% of it being illegal and so they are the people you should complain about rather than the ISP's.

Try having someone looking the engine bay keeping an eye on the power steering hoses. Ive had a leak that was invisible to the eye but when the steering wheel was turned (and pressure was pushing the fluid through) you could see the hole clearly. I found it because the smoke was completely white and didnt happen all the time, the fluid was leaking onto the manifold.

Which is why I prefer the PortaPro for listening at any other time, Ill always prefer 'open' earphones but thats just my opinion.Ultimately these are just going to be for the gym so I dont want to spend a fortune on them.

Budget has to be under $100, anything under $50 would be a bonus.

I need something for at the gym. I dont like the crap music they pump out at great volume, so need something that I can use to block that out, they need to sit nicely, dont fall out all the time but must deliver a reasonable quality ranging from podcasts of just people talking through the The Prodigy. I know there are a couple of people on here with experience (Im looking at you Josh) so would appreciate some help with this. At work I use Bose Quietwhatevertheyrecalled II's which are great at getting rid of background noise (aircon mainly), but whilst the audio quality is good I dont consider it great and everywhere else I use Koss PortaPro which I consider to be excellent. Unfortunately they arent much good at the gym Both letting in too much outside noise and they also tend to fall off quite easily. I dont want to break the bank either so value for money is FTW. Also Im think Im sure in that Ive seen some claiming to be noise cancelling aswell....is that actually possible with an in ear headphone ? Just found Gus' thread on the subject, why is it that the Koss sparkplug phones are almost worthless in the UK (under a tenner) but here they are $50? Id spend more than 10 quid at McDonalds for lunch !

Ive driven RHD cars in LHD countries and vice versa and never had any problems. If you have to move right out to see if its clear before you over take someone then you're driving too close behind them in the first place. There's no reason why you cant pull back and see past them clearly enough.

I agree with Ollie, but I also love how those without kids have all the answers on how to bring them up I will never discipline my kids physically and I dont agree when people say its the only way, its not. My kids get time out but if they do something that either my wife or I disagree with then it gets dealt with immediately. Judging by the comments we get about them they are some of the best mannered kids you are likely to find and its all because we as 'parents' are giving them the best we can in terms of a 'proper' family environment. Any back on topic, unless these scum come at you and physically threaten you there is little you can do. The best thing is always going to be to call the Police and in the meantime have someone record what they are doing. Its seems like every phone has a video function these days and thats always going to be better than getting into a fight with someone.

Id go new aswell on this one mate. With an e39 and its history its just not worth buying second hand. I had all the work done last year as a preventative measure and although the rad was $700, it wasnt that much more for them to do the work.

Oh right, because shooting someone in the back is 'reasonable' is it ?Im sorry Ian, but thats a really stupid thing to say. Your allowed to use reasonable force to contend with any 'force' they might be using. Shooting people is not the answer.
