Im not being funny Eddy but you should do a search on this. 'What tyres should I get' must be THE MOST DISCUSSED thread on Bimmersport. Unfortunately its possibly THE MOST SUBJECTIVE subject aswell. As you can see by the replies already everyone has a different opinion because we all have different cars, with different tyres, with different wheels, have different budgets and different priorities the last time they bought the tyres. I dont think any of the posts so far are any different to whats been posted before so IMO it comes down to the money you have to spend. For what its worth Ive had Falken FK451's in 18' on the 7 and loved them however once they started to wear down they went very quickly, Ive had Dunlop SP Sport 01's in 18' on the 7 and didnt like them at all and I now Falken FK452's in 18' on the touring and love them to bits. But to be perfectly honest, unless you have the same size tyre on the same car and get to drive them back to back the same day I really doubt the average person would notice much difference, assuming your comparing tyres in the same 'range' that is. Lots of us have Nexens thanks to Johno's recommendation and I have to say they are great on my wife's Focus but Im still probably too snobby to have them on the touring !

Its a lovely car, but why do people not bother to clean them before taking 'for sale' photos? It would only take a couple a minutes to clean out the rubbish and vacuum the carpets ! Theyve obviously put a decent amount of effort into staging the photos so it seems shame to not clean out the car aswell.

Depends how quickly you get the fines doesnt it. Ive driven for four years on 'english' plates, been pulled over several times and never had them mentioned. They have the English font though which is much more similar to the Kiwi font than the German effort. So if I get away with 200 every four years Id be mroe than happy.

I dont know about your Auckland efforts, but after having tried to get people to the Wellington ones for the last five years I can sympathise with both camps. Ive lost count of the amount of people who have failed to turn up after posting on the thread to say they would. Its happened so many times we've given up organising them because those that do turn up see each other regularly anyway. As I have a young family though, sometimes my plans can change very quickly which means sometimes I cant make it at the last minute. Although Id like to think my past attendance has given me the right to drop out every now and then.

Thanks gang, will be celebrating with a few jars of my favourite London Porter tonight. A set of black grills for the touring are on their way to me aswell as a little something to myself

Nice work -
I said 'tinting your lenses is illegal' not having red lenses in the first place. Its a wof fail if you put anything put on your rear lights. Whether its lense tint or something else it doesnt matter. But like I said if you do it well enough, its not difficult to get right, and you have a tester who doesnt know any better then you are unlikely to have any problems.
-
Thats not true. Tinting lenses is illegal and if you get an overally officious WOF tester you will be failed. Putting anything on your lenses is a fail, however if your lenses come from the factory as red youre fine. However, just putting a single coat or two is enough to go from orange to red and if your decent enough at it no-one will know the difference. If you put too much on you will definately change the light colour to be too red, so take your time and let each coat dry properly before trying it in the car to make sure you dont go too far.

A red stripe looks better than a white one in my opinion. Too much white wouldnt look right.

Thread cleaned up with the inane ramblings of the two photoshop 'boys' deleted. Take it elsewhere you two.

There may be a perfectly good reason but your leading bidder is bidding on a number of cars at the moment.Hopefully they one end up winning one of the auctions and dont mess anyone around.
-
Yes it did, only its cheating to drive it into a wall !!

Im not questioning whether they are 'hardly dangerous' or not. If they are illegal in NZ (which they appear to be after having a quick scan of the LTSA website) encouraging people to do it is not something Bimmersport wants to be associated with. I can only agree with you about the retrofitted HID's but thats another story

Cant sit here and do it at work, but Im happy to give it a stab over the weekend

Forgot to mention that the diffuser should stay black IMO
-
Or just obey the law and keep them clear.Yellow lights can look great, but if the law does not allow them in NZ why bother?
-
This gets my vote.No other badges, nice and subtle like its supposed to be there but only noticable if you look properly.
-
Seeing those pictures still breaks my heart

Do what Johno has suggested and get back to Mag and Turbo. Whats the point of doing anything else if they dont fix what theyve done? Anything else you do is just making it hard for yourself.
-
What was there reasoning for that Cain? Surely they dont care where the money comes from and surely they would give you first refusal. Is it not a common thing in NZ to be able to buy back a written off car?

Haha, Ive twice been into Jeff Gray and asked for a specific part number and had the same trouble....'cant order parts without your chassis number sir'. For the e38 they ignored my part number and I waited 8 weeks only to receive an aluminium gear knob when mine is all wood the second time they said they couldnt find the chassis number anyway. The number I have you Graham is for a sedan not a coupe.
