No, not replaced but this was fresh munching - in the tape No unfortunately Andy, he went out for one lap this arvo & retired - from what I understand - another hose (unofficial though)
-
^^^^ That's what I was thinking too
-
Chris, Hardly being a "soft lad" - & it appears that it has been diagnosed already. I have this situation frequently at work - "can you please turn the air bag light (or ABS) off - my car needs a warrent - I will get it fixed later" Guess what - the next Wof - still not fixed:- Hense we will not just reset a fault for a WOF Regardless of the design (& maybe floor in design - I'm not disagreeing there) the system is in place & must work to manufacturers specs. I do think though - the replacement part should be cheaper than it is
-
Clutchless - Thought you were racing this weekend Jack?
-
It has probably been taken out & miss timed when put back. You will probably have to remove it to check then refit correctly
-
Happy birthday Martyn. Hope to catch up sometime - since I missed last time you were up this way
-
As above, reset WILL NOT fix the problem (unless it is resetting after tampering with the system - eg removing/ refitting air bag parts) The system should be properly scanned, fault determined & FIXED - this is after all what the manufacturers spent zillions of $$ designing for safety reasons & what WOF's in this country are upholding. Get it fixed!

e46 oem alarm enablment on a 2002 japanese bmw
hotwire replied to scottr's topic in Electrical system
From my experience - hardly any Jap BMW's have OEM alarms fitted - a difference to Euro spec cars -
Quick google: http://www.bavauto.com/se1.asp?dept_id=47

Run with it then. Plenty of life left in the lining of that one.
-
No real point on 5 star alarm. The car is factory immobilised & cannot be started without the correct key. This makes additional immobilisation surperfluous. The Euro (NZ) spec cars also come with factory alarm, the Jap spec, of which I assume yours is one don't, at least most don't. If you want an alarm - the best option would be Map upgrade - where it integrates into the key remote. Dynatron & Mongoose offer these.

Clutch looks rather "black" in the pic. Maybe just the light the pic was taken in? Edit - does it smell burnt? or oily for that matter?
-
The circlip retains the piston. I can't remember offhand the set up of the end of the push rod that goes into the cylinder. Sometimes they are not fastened but simply sit in place, others will have a flange of sorts which sits behind the circlip. If this is the case - remove the circlip, insert the push rod then refit the circlip. As above - the clutch plate lining looks good but can't be sure that it's not got oil contamination or is burnt from the pic. Maybe clean it with Brakleen
-
Check the oil level

^^^^^ Agreed - can't blame the pump without first confirming it is gettiing power & earth. Pump should initially prime when ign turned on & won't start again until cranking. Depending on model - pump is either under the car in front of L/H rear wheel or R/H side on top of tank - accessed from inspection plate under the back seat. If you can't hear it prime - check it is geting power while cranking.

E39 FTW ... oops, that's what he's selling
-
Yep K jetronic (mechanical) & yes M10 engine. Same injection as Benz & Audi of that era. My 86 Audi Quattro Coupe had this system & worked without issue in the nine yrs we had it I haven't seen an M10 E21 to know but I would say this is probably a carry over from that. The M20 E21 was Solex four barrel carb - as was my E12 originally
-
Love it Cam. Not overly an E36 fan but in the right colours they can look good. I do like that colour & the combo:) Great photography too - well done!

Good luck with sale then
