  1. Welcome to BS & NZ if & when & no, not ALL Americans are tarred with the same brush
  2. Probably mostly Jap imports. Silver, so I am told, apparently a favourite colour for Japs (one of) in luxury cars
  3. Manaul or electric, rack or cable? I can't remember specifically but either way - the procedure is pretty self explanitory as you undo the bolts. Alternatively look up realoem for the assy breakdown:-
  4. ^^^^^Gotta agree with most of this. Stunning 5cyl offbeat noise & the bark when nailed. - My injected one too:- I had outside handle break, & twice over the time we had it - a common fault. Electric window switches - dirty contacts - also fixed plenty of times. Noisy fuel pump (intermittently in ours) for about 7 years before it failed - conveniently ignored by me until of course it failed on a trip - a twack with a spanner to get it alive again until we got home. Me of all people should have known better with the warning. Not sure what quattro coupes are worth now but ours was about 6.5K about 5 yrs ago. Having driven both (actually all three - a turbo as well) I would only want a quattro variant - they are such a sure footed car & with their centre & rear diff locks - near on impossible to get stranded
  5. Seriously, & no disrespect - think it's time you took it to a pro to diagnose. You seem to be chasing your tail here:-
  6. Condenser - WTF?? It aint a dinosaur!
  7. Master cylinders are the same - as Dave eludes to There is a biasing valve fitted to the rear line though in cars with a rear disc setup
  8. Atta, I wouldn't - theres a dent in the left front guard Seriously - PM Will (Will07 on here) - he lives close to Roto vegas & is in the trade
  9. These cars been have been discussed on here a couple of times before - the Ur Quattro Turbo version at least. I had a Quattro (non turbo) version equivelent for around 10yrs - a neat drivers car - handled beautifully, a great offbeat sounding 5 cyl 2.2 - a very strong engine. A little agricultural in build - as VW were back then but still a great car - still miss it now:-
  10. Great find Simon Agree - scary - it's true
  11. Gotta say - For all the faults (& there were shitloads) in the SD1's - I still had a soft spot for them. Particually the facelfit car in manual Vitesse guise Right though - a lot of crap came out of BL
  12. Looks quite a tidy P5 - Good on you Yep gotta love the old Buick, oops I mean Rover V8 - great engine Dunno on the "nicer than the E12" bit though -from a biased point of view certainly a bit more lively though
  13. Front drivers makes it sound like an alignment issue. My E39 with 18's has no problem with front but "horrible" cutout of inside shoulder on rears - throw away with rest of tyre still at about 60% tread - a real piss off!! Has been running Toyo but after discussion with Jonno (Zenetti) recently changed the rears to a harder Asymetric tyre with higher silica content & running a higher pressure - will see how these go:- Car has had several wheel align checks from a person with a brain who knows suspension geometries well, he has even taken a little - camber out of it. Toe is correct. Hopefully a change of tyre is going to fix.
  14. That is one nice E32. Good on you - look after it! Oh & welcome
  15. Can't remember & can't find offhand the part number for the terminals but they can be got from dealer. They come individually as a terminal with a black cable (about 6" long) already attached. Not aware of being available elsewhere but if you find out - I would like to know Edit - From BMW - there are actually a couple of options with these terminals/leads - difference being the wire size
  16. Agree with you Nick - I certainly don't condone the drinking driving - especially from those enforcing the law. This sort of publicity certainly does the Police image/respect no good either. That said, & as already said - there may be circumtances known to the judge & not us regarding this case. In one breath I would say - he should be treated like everyone else, in the next - I would suggest that being that the Police will not allow employees with a conviction, then maybe in this case, this guys experience/talent as an officer is deemed to be to valuable to lose - we certainly need cops with experience. I would suggest that maybe in lieu of conviction - maybe a much larger fine could have been appropriate & maybe a longer loss of licience to the norm. I also suggest - not ALL people with DIC convictions lose their job
  17. "53" denotes NG but this unit has OG round terminals MD should mean it is mini disc Is your car wired for CD changer?
  18. Definitely AC's IMO Glenn
  19. That procedure no good for E60. Only solution for radio reprogramming that I know of is BM Workshop in Auckland. Nav, to my knowledge - not feasible to change. Hardware can be changed but there are serious issues with reprograming the car
  20. Happy B/day Ashkan, 21 only comes round once - make the most of it!
  21. Fit OEM bluetooth & also integrates into OEM nav - no on dash add ons then Ipod can then be connected via video module, behind monitor into tape or via CD
  22. From Te Awamutu, I reacon the best route is via Mangakino/Whakamaru onto Western Bypass onto SH1 at Turangi
  23. As above, - probably a dry joint inside the cluster
  24. I was meaning E30/36 etc Yep to yours - X5 is a yank variant as are a few others. They are built in USA. To my knowledge - BMW building in China too - for their market I would gather (& hope!)
  25. My understanding - built in Germany (or SA) but Jap market assembled with required Jap content.
