called BNT $58.90 for each hose, the way the warrant guy described the hose as badly cracked wouldve had me believe its completely deteriated and leaking, but theres only hair line fractures on a small bend of the pipe, no fluids leaking at all, when this weather clears up maybe ill see if i can polish them out, a bit of black shoe polish should fill in any little cracks ha ha, i probably shouldnt be so cheap and replace the hoses as they basically are the difference between life and death.

thanx ill give em a call sometime today, ive never had much luck with them thoe, last time i tried to get parts from them they gave me the wrong part and everytime i went back theyd replace it with another wrong part, then said they couldnt help me.

went in for a warrant last week, and apparently my front brake hoses are cracked badly, i hoisted it up and they look ok to me, but who am i to argue with vtnz. cars a 94 E36 318is 2door manual. i rang the stealer and they wanted $108 for each hose, alot more then i was expecting, anyone else got a good set of second hand ones? or a cheaper option for new ones? cheers, Troy

E36 328i overheating and leaking all coolant??!! help
MADBMA replied to charlie01's topic in Maintenance
correct me if im wrong but turners should still be obligated by the consumers gaurentees act, unless you signed somthing waiving this right, youd be looking at alot of money to fix if its the head gasket, if i was you id look into turners see if the cars are covered by the consumers gaurentees act then fight turners to fix it or refund you the cash -
ha ha good on ya, at least some good came out of it.

PICS!!!???

e36 m3 would be my first pick, if i had to choose next id go the evo, wouldnt touch the other cars with a 10 foot barge pole, they show no intrest to me, as said earlya hondas do suck.

i did the startermotor in my car myself, and did the quick wiring job to bi-pass the imobiliser myself to so sorry have no idea the costs, this is how i checked if it was the immobiliser or starter: wire up a small led with plenty of wire for reach, ground one end on the strut tower and stick the other end on the starter motor terminal, should be the big thick red wire coming off it, turn the car over, if the led lights up and your car dont start your starter motors stuffed, if no light on the led its your imobiliser or a wire inbetween your ignition and starter motor. if you need help wiring around your imobiliser give me a yell, pretty simple with a little eletrical no how.
-
done, that e46 m3 was pretty hot to
-
yeah same here, first had starter motor probs, replaced that then same symptoms a few months later so thought it was the starter motor again, turned out to be the immobiliser, still havent got around to fixing the problem ive just wired in a push button start that bi-passes the immobiliser.
-
well id say it as a no for a different reason being manual starter motor to auto, i have a starter motor from a 6 cyl 320 in my 4cyl 318, e36's thoe
-
yup, but just had to put in my 2 cents on that post

try an oil change youll notice a difference, take better care of your ride man.

i think they make them from your current clutch setup just strenghen them. id ring round places like that and see what they can do, my mate was doing the same with his GTIR and all they were going to do is remanurfacture his old clutch add a few layers i spose. failing that look overseas, have a look at the american bmw forums.

every 10,000ks bout 6 months, penzoil platnium full synthetic good stuff, still a nice honey coulor after 10,000 k

hey its pretty easy to do your self, ive done it twice (used the wrong glue the first time) did it by my self in a coupe, you have to wiggle it out the passenger door, ive heard its quite a mission in a sedan, theres a tech article on this site for the run down just dont use the glue it states in there as its not heat resistant, (someone should really change it) use Selleys Kwik Grip instead and use plenty of it.
-
well if its not the bulb id look at fuses,(not sure if theres a fuse for them) if thats all good i think youd have to start tracing the wire back which is a rather big job, electrical troubleshootings not for the faint hearted
-
i dont think its legal to drill a hole into your firewall so you would have to be carefull with that but surely you can find an exsisting hole to use, i always thought the e36s battery was in the boot, that where mine was, never seen it up front.
