ive had my car for about a year and put on over 30k on it, but that was with a road trip up north and then later on in that year one down south. im suprised the average is around 30k a year thoe i dont normally do 2 road trips a year it was the south island one that did the most ks for me, as it was the first time visiting down south since i was a kid.

good write up, but just got to ad a few things, after reading this i pulled my saggy headlining out and followed what you wrote up there, came out good at first, wasnt the best but it looked ok, anyways after puting it back in the car, and the car siting in the sun the glue came unstuck and bits started to sag again, red the back of the ADOS spray adhesive and noticed its not good for anywhere thats in contact with heat, and we should no how hot a car can get in the middle of summer, mine came unstuck with the few warm days weve been having. talked to an aphoulster who was doing work on my girlfirends valiant and he uses stuff called Selleys KWIK GRIP, heat resistent water resistent, its a paint on type of glue so not as handy as the spray stuff but its done a bloody good job, alot stronger and has come out alot better then the ados stuff, and wont sag in the heat, got it from mitre 10 $21 for a litre and you need a litre, takes a little longer and a bit more elbow grease, but the aim is for a headlining thats not sagging and i think it was worth it. oh and add one more thing take the headlining out the passenger side door.

yeah thats pretty bloody nuts aye, saw it on TV awhile back, poor kids.

Well if all else fails theres always the push button start, and drill into your steering lock to disable it. i once saw this happen in a ford, AA came out sprayed a sh*t load of CRC in there grabbed a pair of plyers and twisted hard, id say somthings stuffed up in your barrel E30 ignition barrels cant be that hard to get ahold of for replacement.
-
You could always just put some filler over the bolts and sand it flat, paint over it and itll be like new, you used no glue aye? just bolted it into the previous holes?

Trademe or any place like dicksmiths or jaycar, fusion do a good little small one thats big enough to power playstations and what not.

next time its going off, go around your car a push the doors in, if the window moves up itll be your door/window acuator thingie, mine did it one night, just kept going off every 5 minutes, it was driving me nuts, but figured out it was the acuator thing so it was an easy fix. the door actuators just in the door well half way up, mine was worn down quite a bit, but i still havent got around to getting a new one, i just ended wrapping quite a few layers of eletrical tape in there to boost up the contact surface area, havent had a porblem with it since.

this hole questions been done to death, and everytime someone asked there seems to be so many different answers, i put 6inch in the back of my coupe, replaced the 5.25s that were in there stock.

ha ha thanks very good story, well the heater now works dont know what happened but seems to be working on thie drive i just took, lights still out thoe, there seems to be only one bulb thats out, and it clearly looks blown, dont know fully how to change the bulb thoe but geuss ill figure that out when time permits.
-
well cant get the heater controls out with out taking apart half the dash, which will have to be left for a day when i have more time, but i have noticed that a bulb is blown, so that would explain the lights going out but what about the heat?
-
ok well last night i was driving home from work, and noticed all the lights were out on my heater controls, i turned it on and left it going for a while and got nothing but cold air from all the vents, the car was very well warmed up so this wasnt the problem, i had a look at the fuses today and there fine, anyone know where i should next be looking? at the moment im trying to take the heater controls out to have a look behind, easyier said then done. its from a 94 e36 and its the dial ones, two big dials on the out side and two smaller ones in the middle, anyhelp would be good.

theres always plenty to spend your money on!!, start customizing once you start youll never stop, like me, seems to take alot of my money and it never stops.

if you cut just above the sensor and wire the 2 wires toghether, a bit of duct tape, no permanant damage becuase the sensor unplugs further up to replace it.cant say ive tried removing my instrument cluster in my E36 but i know itll take longer then 10mins, cables and clips and all that crap then find the right bulb to remove. weird that it caused you to fail your warrant thoe, i flew through a warrant at VTNZ with my brake warning light up, changed the pads a few weeks after and cut the light out.
-
no way, thats a missionthe brake pad sensor is a constant circut and when the brakes where down the sensor is split in half resulting in the light coming up, just cut the wire for the sensor under the wheel arch and wire the two little wires inside together, tape it up and no more light. you can easyily replace it later so no big deal, take the wheel off front left, and rear right for the sensors

yeah id say 15k, but you could insure it for what ever you want if you were doing it that way, just be wary of the premiums.
-
the insurance company will tell you what its worth in most cases, they will take a valuation of the car, all depending on year and what not, i think they have a big list of cars valuations, then will ask you for the price of all your mods, i think you can do other policys where you just ask to be insured for a set amount but the premiums are higher.

did ya ever think that the central locking module was stuffed originally and taken out by the previous owner and thrown into the boot to oneday be replaced? id say it was already stuffed thats why it was taken out and you might have to get another one, just my geuss.

thats a very odd site, mildly intresting thoe

Do you want to remove tar from your automobile without removing the paint along with it? If so, spray the tar with any laundry pretreatment solution. Wipe off and the tar will be gone, but not the car paint! got that off the first site i found in google, the net has everything if ya have a look

ha ha yeah ok, first time ive seen it down there but ill keep an eye out for it, i gotta run into town later ill see if its still there
