It never ceases to amaze me that people who don't buy lotto tickets rush out and buy them when the jackpot is huge. You would spend $11 for a chance of winning $24m, but wouldn't spend the same amount for a chance of winning $2m? Last week Lotto sales were 30% higher than average, diminishing your chances being the lone jackpot winner even more. The smart people must only buy them in "normal" weeks.

A very similar car went through Turners Classic auction last weekend. From memory, the reserve was about $5k but bidding only hit $3k. I wonder if it is the same car? Bit of a gamble buying with the ABS light on, but could work out OK.

These seem to be hard to come come by in NZ. eBay is probably your best bet.

A VW Golf GTI is desirable. An auto E30 318i isn't. But, why bother starting this thread if you seem to know the answer in your head already?

Checked out Jucy, but the three day minimum hire is the killer. They don't seem to be any cheaper than Avis / Budget / Hertz either...

I need a rental car this weekend. I'm under 25 and most companies tell me I need to pay a surcharge (usually $25+ GST a day). Does anyone know of rental car co's that don't make you pay the surcharge? (I'm 23) Also, who is doing the best deals at the moment? Cheers in advance.

With those k's and a rough exterior, you should be aiming closer to $10k. Would be very hard to off load when it clicks over 300,000kms

I'm pretty sure with a bit of negotiation you would be able to pick something up very similar for under $100k at a dealer, they would be able to take care of your trade in too. There are plenty of RS4's for sale at the moment. Did you have a crack at the M5?
