The drivers door on my E36 coupe is not opening from the outside. It started off as an intermittent problem, but now won't work at all. The door can still be opened from the inside with no problems. It feels like the handle is connected to nothing. Has anyone had a similar problem / have an indication of what the problem could be? Thanks in advance.

Have you seen this manual '89 530i at Turners in Wgtn? Looks like it ticks all the boxes and is estimated to go for $1500 - $3000. EDIT: shame the auction is happening whilst you are still overseas

How much are you wanting to spend? There are a few E30 tourings on here and some have been for sale. You will need to pay up for a good one.

Yeah, you can't really beat the SL as an all rounder. The 8-Series never made sense to me. There are much better cars out there. At under $30k, I would go for an SL but at over $30k (and if you will accept 8-series type running costs) you should look at Porsche's. A 928 GTS if you are after a cruiser, or a 911 964 if you want more of a sports car.

How much do you want to spend? Leasing used cars is a waste of time. Not really any cheaper than new. All leases require the car to be returned in "acceptable" condition, so you will have to repair any dings and dents. Ford and Holden usually do sharp lease deals and I think Toyota often run good value specials too. Bummer you just missed out on a 05 NZ new Suzuki Jimny travelled 50kms which was at Turners last week for $7k

Who gives a toss? If you will all miss them so much, why did you hardly ever buy them when they were on the market? Surely there are more pressing issues in the world to deal with at the moment...

Boot spoiler is horrid

Spotted a rough looking red one yesterday. Numberplate started with a P, paint was chipping off and generally looked neglected. Was parked in the Wilson car park (if you could call it that!) in front of the Scene apartments in between Foodtown and Britomart.

An unwarrantable E32 would be a damn good destruction derby car. Surely there are some floating around / rotting in their owners driveway going cheap?

Carfax suggests it had done 16k in '06, so thats 10k over two years... Not to untoward really.
