rad. what size rubber you running?
  2. ouch! wheel offset is measured as the distance from the centerline to the mounting face, so by using wider lips you shift the centerline and change the offset. Thats part of the reason why ideal offset changes with rim width.
  3. tits. vids now. that torque figure will need to be done in a 1:1 gear and then divided by the diff ratio. (you could do it in another gear and account for that too though)
  4. not as bad as the guy selling instructions on how to reset service lights
  5. the offset will change if you get wider outers. Being a 6" rim th ET34 offset is about right. If you went with outer lips that were 2" wider to give 15x8 the offset would become ET9, which is a bit low (numerically) for an 8" rim, would have to run a slightly narrow tyre, along with guard work probably.
  6. Had a clean out and found my old cold air intake. Made it for my M10 but might fit other models with a bit of fiddling around? Pics show how it can look with a quick polish. Includes pipe, heatshield, and AFM brackets. You will need to get your own pipe joiner (that goes from AFM to SS pipe), clamps, and filter.
  7. can flip directionals, just not asymmetrical. I'll agree with you on less rubber on the road but the idea with flipping them is you don't let it get that bad. This does get quite expensive flipping every 5000km or so (unless you know the right people) so it doesn't get done as often as it should.
  8. care to explain why this is such a no no?
  9. is this just second hand parts or are you selling new parts too?

Happy Birthday, and good to hear that Ash should be ok
  11. i'd take a 4 dr M3 over a 2 dr, just reckon the e36 sedans look better than the coupes, plus you get 2 more doors.
  12. wicked. + whatever on vids, dyno, skids etc I just got mine going again, (sort of). 15psi is fun, can only think what 300 V8 horses will be like

    hard rear springs

you wont want to go too hard chris or it will upset the handling. You got the gaurds rolled? what was the wheel offset and width before you got the wider lips? most people are normally able to get 8" under there easily enough with around a 20 to 25 offset
  14. welcome, pretty sweet car BMW $tealers are the NZ ACS agents
  15. Boge have been OEM supplier for bmw, not sure if thats still the case. Is that price for the fronts or rears? boge turbos's (sports) of just standard? that price is about normal for standard front shocks. rears are around half or 2/3s the cost of the fronts normally and I think the sports shocks cost twice what the standards do. also, give stocks a call, they have reasonable koni prices i think.
  16. ^ that has happened to me too, normally its the struts that are the proplem though. FYI: Ideal offset for a 7" wheel on an e30 is between 20 and 25, with factory size being 25 of the weaves. 30mm will probably work in most cases but wont look as good as it will sit inside the guards a bit. Spacers: For those who dont know how the offsets work spacers will reduce the offset. Ie, if you have an ET38 wheel I would use a 15mm spacer to bring it down to ET23. Even better is to get the right offset wheels than f**k around with spacers and the dramas that go with with.
  17. what diameter wheels? I take it thats with the bigger 51mm struts? just curious cos I'm pretty sure 17x7 ET38 will just clear the 45mm struts
  18. I've only really dealt with some of the guys at manfield events and they were all really helpful, friendly guys. Never bothered with dinners so can't comment on that crowd.

    Best picture ever!

no trouble getting badge in that car
  20. ^ nice chris, how wide out back? 8.5s?
  21. is it smoke or steam? can you smell coolant? oil milky or creamy? is the coolant in the radiator bubbling or foaming? - all classic signs of blown HG. what do you mean by low end or topend?
  22. no. you need the full M3 or E36 struts. some people are working on spacers to adapt e36 hubs to e30 struts tho
  23. that would be a 12.6 gus. depends what you want out of it. M10 is sweet for a toy/project but with that budget I think you might just get away with M50 turbo, more potential than M20. a few guys in the states who have had M10 or M20 turbos end up going M50/M52
  24. tis all about the skirt. dunno why they just dont get an mitsi evo, i'm sure blondes come factory fitted
  25. Rest in Peace Jock My sympathies to the family, friends and anyone else that had the pleasure of knowing him.
