  1. Confirmed from Ray@Hellbm that the infamous E38/39 727 airbag module can be repaired to fix the 240 internal ecu error. Please see Ray if you have this issue!
  2. Brand new from Karbonius. I bought this because I was curious how good these were. Latest version with all black alloy fittings and carbon trumpets - pre-preg carbon fibre and autoclave construction. Lighter than the genuine airbox. $4800 firm (FYI, the genuine CSL airbox is $10,000 to buy from BMW if you can still get one, used ones go for about $8000). These are absolute bargains compared to the real deal!
  3. How you liking the new throttle mapping Justin? I did a little tweak there also just to see if you liked it?! Car is also delimited but don't go testing that on public roads!! Also I wouldn't just do the Reddish plates - get the epoxy done also. I did a big write up quite a few years ago on the rear subframe crack and how plates on its own are useless and next to pointless. A very good friend of the owner at Reddish showed him the write up and he basically said, yep, spot on. I liken the rear subframe failure to a coke can with a bolt through it, adding another skin on top of the can does nothing to stop the bolt from pulling out - add some sand or silicon in the can and voila, try pulling that sucker out!
  4. Been a while since I updated. Have now expanded into other areas and I can also now do the following: E46 LCM firmware reflash - update from CI35 to CI36 or CI37 - these give extra functions to the light controls - most notable the triple blink feature. I also own brand new units of CI36 and CI37, meaning I can flash these into brand new units ready for coding with any cars. Of course not entirely necessary to turn these into brand new units, but helpful as CI36 and CI37 firmware locks out odometer and VIN number tampering. Also in the works at the moment is the infamous E38/39 727 airbag module - I can now flash these modules also and fix the dreaded 240 internal ecu error (under testing, awaiting confirmation that these repairs are software related).
  5. Long shot but perhaps someone has a set out there that they swapped to black?!
  6. Buy a MS41.0 from post 1997 and send it to me and I'll remove the ews for free.
  7. Yep definitely died. There is another photo of it from the other side and it ain't pretty either.
  8. Wow I remember that photo from like it was yesterday. One of the first if not the first person to die in an E46 M3.
  9. Personally I'd just delete the dtc for the aircon as the map it affects only really relates to aircon being on anyways. Can send to me to do easy : )
  10. EWS delete is easy ... Why do you need a/c delete?? It isn't usually done and makes little sense.
  11. No haven't done mine as I've only done 30k km. As for recommendation, I would say probably nearing the 80-100kkm mark to be safe, but it can depend on how the car was treated.
  12. Yeah bit funny trying to post it via a phone !! That is the right video Nick thank you!

  14. Received and repaired and revirginised for ews repairing. Someone who didn't know what they were doing had been trying to flash this via bdm and corrupted the file on one of the chipsets. Poor soldering work on the bdm header also. It was the original dme afterall and the part of the data not corrupted had the correct vin number information on it.
  15. Rod bearing issue on the s54 motor was never caused by oil, it was always a manufacturing tolerance issue and oil pump issue. Oil is oil ... If it is the right working range then it'll be fine. Big end bearings are a maintenance item anyway. Like Josh said, I'd be more worried about cams and cam followers snd I might add headgasket. Those seem to fail at a much much higher rate than big end bearings, especially if driven hard.
  16. Non of the current crop of TWS is the same as the original formulated for the M engine. That stuff is long gone. Just use the new Shell product that BMW is now selling for all their Turbo engines. It's the same stuff Ferrari uses for all their high revving engines. It's a better product than Castrol anyways.
  17. Must be 6 cylinder - no 4 cylinder or diesel will be considered. Moderate km only but must be in good reasonable condition. Motorsport suede interior preferred and motorsport exterior. Prefer pre facelift lights. Colour doesn't matter. Auto or manual Must be cheap Needed for dog carrying lol!!
  18. Cheers for the offer but I don't think you realise how much shipping something so large would cost from the bottom of the world. You might be better off buying from TTFS who are distributors for these in the USA.
  19. I can match any mss54 to any ews box and keys. I can also flash ews boxes and modify these and rolling codes to used keys ect! I also have the ability to recover so called bricked mss54 most of the time. They do crap out from time to time from people that don't know what they are doing (plenty of those on that forum) - there's a guy on there that claims he can do this and that and trust me I get more emails from him than spams! Send it to me and I'll test it for you. It makes no difference which car the dme came from I can virginise these so you can pair it with any ews box or key sets. I don't know why you bothered sending these to the USA as I have the knowledge and equipement to do almost everything the Americans can do with these and more. I have a test dme and I can tell you this dme has gone to hell and back - I have even test brick and recovered this to help out a guy that did the same in the UK - there's a specific way to put these into boot mode so it can be recovered (even when it fails to talk via BDM). Send it to me and cover return postage and I'll check it for you for free and recover it for nothing.
  20. If the product is over $1000 they are probably waiting for you to provide them with your importers' code. Ring the freight forward agent or get a form off customs website and apply for an importers' code first to speed things up.
  21. Hmmm tempting as I was contemplating on building a spare csl motor hmmmmm

    His and hers

When I first got the car I did, but nowdays a little difficult putting a toddler in with rear facing seats plus capsule so it hasn't been a daily for a while now. In fact it doesn't actually get driven enough and I simply don't have the time to use it at all and I have actually been thinking about hiring a responsible individual to run the car for me every week : /
