I always liked Audi's and VW's. One day I was picking up my car from my mechanics and there happened to be an A6 of the 2003-8 shape or whatever the exact years are with the whole front disassembled. I commented that it looked pretty serious... Apparently to accomplish what should be relatively simple repairs like a waterpump etc the car needs to be pretty much pulled apart. That's just one anecdotal example from someone who does not know that much about mechanics but it chilled my wallet to the bone.

I find it's fine - but I like to sit in my car like I sit in my chair at the office, so I'm sitting quite high up with a straight back. Not leaning all the way back with my arm out the window like a boss.

That sucks

I use AVG paired with Zone Alarm firewall, seems to work well.

This is true, post facelift S Classes of that shape didn't have wiring harness issues. They just had issues with wiring in the mirrors. I owned a pre F/L one for 5 years, ex-Singapore. It was an excellent car and I drove it to 250,000km's and it was still driving well when I traded it for my E39. I had no electrical issues as the wiring was replaced before I got it. For that car you really want the S500 with the V8 if you're going to be doing lots of open road driving in it IMO. For more info on them I'd head over to BenzWorld - it's a pretty good community by the time I left I'd racked up 7000 posts...

The 2nd episode is very good. Mind you, I think jokes about penis are funny and don't really car too much about the exact technical specifications of the LFA and various other cars I have no interest in owning. Just the kind of lowest denominator who makes the show so popular...

I think 25k is too long also but just considering your two statements, if it is 25k then it seems the BMW service interval is simply too long. But I thought these cars had the "smart" monitoring of the service interval. So if you wait for the car to tell you it adjusts based on the driving.

That's a picture of the offender who scratched up the window with a diamond ring... I'm using a Meguiar's wheel cleaner at the moment in a trigger bottle I forget the name but it's excellent at breaking down a lot of stuff including tar. I use a dish sponge to get into all the tight bits and provide some light scrubbing.

How'd you do the rear parcel tray? Mine is kinda purple/faded... -
I take the train to the office, my life is much more stress free... my biggest worry of my commute is which podcast I want to listen to. Guess we wait and see if the WOF rules really change anything. I don't think we'll notice.
-
I imagine it will be based on the first registered year overseas for imports. I don't know what was wrong with the old system, 6 monthly WOFs was not that hard.

BBC iPlayer, you can access with a proxy.

Well they say they have receipts which prove it. Probably someone changed the cluster with a new one after it failed or was damaged. All the same it's a nicely spec'd car by the looks of it and they've acknowledged the mileage is higher than 26k or whatever it has in the image.

Brand new M5 wheels = wheels like an M5 or OEM BMW wheels? If they're replicas you might want to make sure of the quality/weight also.

Is there additional plating in the body of the car or is it just the laminated glass?

I learnt the hard way that if you're not happy don't even let them touch the car. When you deal with these companies never compromise. It's not in your best interest as the insurance company/Smith & Smith won't remember that you were good to deal with or a pain. Take photos and send to the person processing your claim. You always have the Insurance Ombudsman if you really need them.

I think it's the live lcence plate/ability to drive on the roads which is worth the money. They limit vehicle licences to reduce congestion.

Looks like it has jammers on the front bumper too... Love the interior.

This happened to me too with parts a couple of years ago. I harassed the person and his then girlfriend (it was her PayPal) account to the point where he gave me a refund, I even made some money (about $10) on the FX rate. It's amazing what you can find out about someone in terms of their address, phone numbers etc via the internet. Although it did take the better part of 6 months... All I'm saying is that Palmerston is a small town...

Really? I would have thought they wouldn't tie up a production line car to produce a coupe which didn't match the sedan and wasn't current anymore. You sure they just don't have excess stock that they use up? But checking Wikipedia it seems that they did produce the E46 in coupe only form in 2006.

Well that's really going to suck for the person who buys it thinking they're getting a six or seven year old car then isn't it...

Asking price for this V12 e38, steep?

Cheap but obviously needs work: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-550957260.htm -
I live in Newmarket and I use Parnell Motors, they are excellent. They're across from the Mobil station just out of Newmarket: http://parnellmotors.co.nz/

Yeah I've had a few parts of Ebay and are generally pretty good but something like this I'm not too keen to buy. That and it's a damn annoying time of the year to have this crap out on me, so I want to replace it sooner rather than later. Looks like HellBM has be sorted though.
