  3. I am not entirely sure what you mean by live data. All they said was they used their computer to scan it and found no codes. I am sure they could find whats wrong but I do not have or want to keep dishing out money in HOPE they find the actual cause. So I'll off to do the basics first, fuel filter, etc and then I guess will be taking the car to manually clean out the injectors.
  4. Total cost (labour + parts + diagnosis) for what I just listed was done for just over $1100. My car miss and takes very long to start up only mostly when warm. =/
  5. Thanks for the input guys, will give it the additives a try anyway. On a slightly off topic question, how would I be able to tell if I have leaking injectors? I went to these guys Link Here. They are quite reputable here, found oil in spark plugs recess from leaking rocker cover gaskets, fixed both sides, changed all spark plugs, cleaned out oil but to no avail. Edit: No fault codes either

  8. Main point of using is because I guess previous owner hasn't been using higher octane gas (for me its 98). Car has a small misfire and hard to start when warm so trying to see if this improves the problem.

  10. Hello people, What is a good fuel injector cleaner people have used and works? I see the Valvoline Fuel Injector & Carby Cleaner - 2 x 350mL sells at $13.26 at SCA almost twice as cheap as others. Also, could I ask how these work, in the way do I have to use the additive each time I fuel up to maintain it running smoother or do I just use it a certain number of times which when the injectors are clean then I do not need to use the product anymore. Sorry for the noob post, please don't flame me

  13. Not sure by what you mean by "thump gears". If you mean shift down hard like jolting the car then I would say not really.I guess I will change out the fluids and filter first to see what I get. But that will be after replacing a cracked power steering belt, which will be after testing for leaking injector and changing fuel filter.

  18. Will try get a video this week. Also just wondering how would a partially clogged fuel filter act? After service was done yesterday the mechanic told me he thinks the fuel filter on the car has never been changed during my car's lifetime which means 14 years now.
  19. No, this is when I am not even using the kickdown function yet. What I mean is that it seems to hang for a longer time then I would think it should. During the time the RPM is hanging there, car feels gutless. =S Also I think it may have something to do with the slight whinning sound from transmission. Hope its not more $$$ Edit: Or something to do with the fact that there is a small misfire problem =S

  21. Hope someone can shine some light on this! E349 540i oil leaks are driving me nuts!
  22. There is a strange way my 540i is behaving. When say I need to over taking someone, I pust my foot down. Then this happens in order: 1) RPM springs up and get power and yay 2) I lift foot off (stop accelerating) and RPM still seems to hang for a while around 5k then coming down extremely slowly 3) Car feels like its powerless while the RPM is coming down slowly 4) Car feels like its in the wrong gear 5) I need to either hit the brakes to slow down a bit in which the RPM will drop quicker and then the auto will suddenly switch gear (up). 6) I have to rev it until it switches up but in which when I lift off my foot the same thing will happen from step 2). Haven't driven any cars which does this. Anyone shed any light? Thanks
