Hi there, on our E39s (M62 engine), do we have 1 more 2 cam sensors? I know one is located under the MAF beside the dipstick. If there is two is the other one at the same position on the other side? Also how much force do we need to use to take it out? Tried pretty hard and won't budge. Also not keen on breaking something =/ I was following DIY here: Camshaft Position Sensor DIY

Hi, a fan clutch question. If the car is cold, should the fan stop if a thin roll of newspaper was stuck between the fan? or is it that when the car is at operating temperature that the fan would stop if a thin roll of newspaper is inserted. What I am trying to find out is my fan clutch bad. SO in other words, IF the car is at operating temperature and newspaper got stuck in and the fan stops, it means the fan clutch is working? Sorry to be so confusing

Hi guys, I need to borrow a Torx 20 5 start screwdriver with tamper proof (a hole in the middle to the torx). I bought torx set today and only had 6 stars (very careless of me) I need to tighten up my MAF sensor so if there are any kind hearted soul in Christchurch who can borrow me one it would be great Thanks

Update: let it idle for a while this morning with the hood up. saw some burnt oil smoke coming somewhere below/near cylinder 4. Also just after start up there is a very stong exhaust smell

My car was idling rough and would take a long time to start/crank especially when it was warm. Took it to Kevin Burt Ltd. They did a diagnostic check ($130) and found no faults. They then started having a look around an found oil leaking from the rocker cover gasket in which the oil started to build up in the spark plug recesses. Told me that should be the problem. They changed the rocker cover gaskets, seals and spark plugs ($923 total in which $480 is labour cost). Got it back, still rough idles and takes ages to start up. Feels no different from before except knowing the fact that I have new seals and spark plugs What else could cause this? Anyone have the same problems? I checked my air filter seems clean. Leaks from elsewhere? =(
