    F10 M5

Yep! Let's hear more about the M5 than the possibly erroneous opinions of BMW employees!
  2. Here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=544532673 And here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=544449159 Message me on here and I'll do you a better price.
  3. You have to switch CC on with the dash button before the steering controls activate (they control speed, etc).
  4. I need a piece like this that's in original unfaded/uncracked condition! The rest of my interior trim is mint.
  5. Thanks. I've found the same. Done a bit of hunting around and have read a lot of good feedback for the Posiquiet ceramic pads (low dust and noise and good performance for street brakes). They also happen to be half the price of OE pads in NZ, despite international shipping costs. Unless anyone has tried them and thinks they're rubbish, I might give them a try. At less than $200 for front and rear including shipping it seems worth taking a chance on them.

    Sell out sale.

Any E39 bits and pieces? Looking for a tan/cream/caramel leather interior (just the seat skins and door card inserts) and shadowline trim (door, bumper and gloss black window trim).
  7. I recently had my fuel injectors serviced. Found out one of the injectors had a fairly erratic flow pattern even after cleaning so a couple of days ago I replaced it with a perfect one. Since then the rough idle in my E39 has all but gone (still there but almost imperceptible). Could a single injector flow pattern have caused the rough idling or is it just a coincidence (i.e. the weather in the last few days has been significantly warmer so the car's not as cold in the morning). If the faulty injector was the cause, why didn't it effect it once the car was running at temp? Just interested.
  8. Thanks Glenn, they're just round the corner from me so I'll do that.Cheers
  9. Did a search and couldn't find anything on here... Interested in recommendations for brake pads (street) for an E39 528iA. Not sure what the current pads are on my car - they were there when I bought it - but they're a bit juddery when braking at high speed and they produce a shed load of dust. I guess the auto's a bit harder on the brakes than a manual but these seem terrible. After spending a fortune restoring my wheels, it's a massive pain in the @ss having to clean them every week because of the sh*tty brake pads. Any recommendations for some good low dust (presumably ceramic) pads for an E39?
  10. Looks a nice car but pics are too small!
  11. Exactly, they can say pretty much what they like unless it's a direct comparison or measurement (e.g. they couldn't say that their fuel is better than 98 from BP and they couldn't say that their fuel is 96 when it's only 95.2 but they can say it's 'top quality' as the measure for 'top' is subjective). You can use it in any engine - just doesn't mean it will be good for that engine!
  12. Because it's the top quality fuel that Z offers... It doesn't say anywhere that it's the top quality fuel available. Don't you love marketing copy writers?!
  13. Everything looks better in a black E39!! (I'm biased)
  14. It's probably the zinc oxide in the sunscreen that won't come off as it's a mineral. Try a product for removing water stains (also mineral-based) and that might work. Can't recommend any off the top of my head, I'm afraid.

    E36 > E46

    I take it back.
  16. It should form a coating like the original one applied in the factory. With larger areas you'd normally use a dye then a topcoat but this DIY kit is an all in one so you don't need to spray on a topcoat afterwards. Not sure how well it'll work on a steering wheel but thought I'd give it a try.
  17. +1 for the drive. Looks are much of a muchness, if you ask me, but I do prefer the BMW. It looks like they've taken the RS5 shape and just refined it a little bit... Plagiarism is the highest form of flattery!!
  18. Looks good. I've just ordered a kit to refurbish an Msport steering wheel I picked up from Brent. Will add some pics when I do it as well.

    E36 > E46

True, dyeing grey to black should be pretty straightforward.
  20. It's not my imagination, is it?? Back end and interior of the BMW look better IMO though.

    E36 > E46

Does seem weird... You'd think most auto trimmers would stock black carpet or is it a particular kind that you need?
  22. Well, it's dry this morning - despite a lot of rain overnight. I guess a bit fiddling around with the end of the drain hose where it connects to the sunroof drain was enough?! Hopefully it's okay now - will be happier if it stops f**$@ng raining!
