  1. Central locking works fine with the key but driver's door and rear left doors don't lock with the remote. Can any electrical whizz's shed any light on root cause? Am figuring GM module rather than door actuators or the issue would occur with the key as well as the remote but not my area of expertise. Anyone? Josh? Anyone?
  2. Only 160 RHD CSIs ever built and this one is one of only 4 with this colour combo. Certainly falls into the rare category!!
  3. Not if you want an 850csi not an M coupe!
  4. CSI technically isn't top of the line. The engine was developed by the M division but the real M8 never made it to production. If it had it would've been a world beater in the early 90s pushing out more than 500bhp from a heavily modified S70 engine. Agree re: the rims but $48k seems about right for a rare and very collectible car. The last one to sell in NZ had barely 30K kms on the clock and went for just shy of $100k.
  5. Would if I could!! https://touch.trademe.co.nz/r/listing/view/1102394906 Has been unofficially for sale for a while. Reasonably priced for a car with high kms that only arrived (with its owner) from the UK a few years ago. Still, a rarity so worth every penny. Just have another $20-30k ready for when it needs some TLC!!
  6. Photos are lifted from the original auction that this 'dealer' won (at $4600).
  7. Sold to Cameron. Enjoy.
  8. $3750 ono Had it for 9 months or so and in that time I've done a bunch of stuff. Most recently lowering and replacing front and rear shocks plus front discs and pads (ATE). Sitting on around 350k kms it still runs smoother than many lower kms examples I've driven. Body is tidy but not perfect as is interior - which only has one small crack in the dash! Original and unmolested, a rarity these days. Selling because I've picked up a wagon. The BBS are genuine but require an 8mm spacer at the front (not currently certed). Will take $3,250 on original bottlecaps, which will come with the car if you buy the BBS. Also have a spare cylinder head. Planned to recon and replace but not got round to it and car is running just fine so haven't needed to!!
  9. Picked up some good used Monroe sport shocks from Ray and a bargain front rotor/pad set from eBay (NZ$160 shipped for ATE pads and rotors). All fitted and looking good for the next owner... Buy it!!!
  10. Thanks Dave. Let's have a chat on Sunday!
  11. It's a bit rough around the edges. Mechanically they'll be a few things, starting with the vanos which is poked and it's got a nasty shudder under braking. Feels more like rotors than suspension but either way they'll be some dollars to spend. The steering also feels oddly heavy at very low speed and fine once you're moving - I thought servotronic steering but it doesn't show on the build sheet (haven't had a proper look yet). Cosmetically it's pretty tidy, with just the usual wear and tear of a 20 year old car.
  12. This'll be staying auto. My better half doesn't want to learn to drive a manual and she'll use it now and again. Rest of the time it'll be a comfy work hack for me.
  13. Yep, I know... I was clarifying for the h8ers.
  14. Having met the present owner I am in no doubt that there was no intent to mislead. He's not a car person and, to be fair, the rego says 1997. I very much doubt that he has any idea how to search for build sheet via the VIN. We're quick on here to assume that everyone's knows what they've got and they're just trying to pull a fast one, when most of the time they don't know what they've got or what it's worth and trust what the previous owner/dealer told them and trust that the rego will be correct.
  15. 'Tis now mine for a very reasonable $3K and, thanks to an equally reasonable quote from Ray at HellBM, it will go straight there for vanos seal repair!! Sweet!
  16. I've driven it. Vanos seals have gone (underpowered at low rpm and hesitant idling). I've made an offer with that in mind and contacted Ray re: vanos seal replacement (I don't have the right tools). Now... Who wants a tidy manual E30 320i on BBS?
  17. I'm assuming it's connected with the move as per James' thread here: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/56077-bimmersport-downtime/ I'm sure he will chime in when he gets this (and I will attempt to contact him offline) but he did note he is not currently receiving notifications. Apologies for any inconvenience folks.
  18. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1091804287.htm I've been on the lookout for a cheap E39 530i touring for a while and saw this sell at auction about 2 weeks ago for $4.6K. Would probably have bid but didn't have time to view the car first. Apparently a dealer purchased and is now reselling for a small profit, but so small that I'm worried it has serious issues. Anyone know the car?
  19. I'd call him. You might be waiting a while for him to read this!!

    1991 E31 850i

Yep, Picton. Just a touch up for now. Sourcing some headlining material and will then do bonnet and sunroof respray at the same time.
