EGS installed with Dinan performance transmission s/w upgrade... Wow! What a difference. Probably amplified because I've been running 740i s/w while my EGS went to California and back but either way the difference is night and day. Higher revs throughout the gears in Drive and Sport - the acceleration in Sport is epic - and the changes in manual, while not instantaneous like modern autos and SMG, are sooooo much better. Definitely firmer (in manual and auto) and way, way faster. Highly recommend this upgrade. Loving it. Will reset the adaptions as soon as possible and write a more complete report when I've had a chance to really test it.

Just got back from Melbourne and this was waiting for me... Inside is my upgraded transmission EGS. PIcking the car up from HellBM tomorrow (Ray's boys have replaced the thrust arm bushes with some new X5 ones) so I'll drive back with the new software! Fun!

Ha! It's gone up! Must be all the Bimmersporters viewing it on TM that's got his hopes up.

I live in Ponsonby. It's a bloody amazing suburb but a sh*t 2 bedroom villa with holes in the walls will set you back a cool $1.4M so unless you're selling a 6 bed mansion in Welly you may need to look elsewhere or rent. Renting's a lot cheaper than buying in some of the nicer suburbs and there are some really nice places available. I'd consider renting our house out if you give me the keys to the M5 haha! Jokes aside, hope the move works out and it'll be good to have another E39 M5 at the meets.

Looks okay and reasonably priced for the mileage and age (though I'd probably try and get it for $4K). Owner seems fairly straight up to from his description. Looks good on those style 65 reps too. I'm sure there's a member on the Shore who could take a look for you.

Interior update: Wasn't totally happy with the gloss finish I got using the Pellecare products. Contacted them and they apologised - they think they may have got the mix slightly wrong and said they'll mix a new batch with a bit more pigment (so I can do it in fewer coats) and more matting agent so it looks OE. Bit of a PITA that I'll have to do it all again but really good of Pellecare to offer to resend the products it only took a day or so. Xmas project.

It's within 15% of the reserve, so presumably reserve is around $30K... I reckon worth every dollar if someone gets it for that!
