comeon people anyone out there got one?

Those sound like standards markings not wheel brandings, how about a picture?
-
I have pictures of them bolting on, I dont have any short of whipping them off the white car to test but the pictures are the E30 ones. Let me know if you are abe to match them up.I have converted to coilovers so might use the E21 arms as they have stronger mount points (they ran factory coilovers in the 323i). The reason for using E30 was for the handbrake setup, I need a separate e-brake fr the wilwood calipers.

OK this might be a tough one- I have a non-power steer rack, but the splines on the pinion shaft are different. I desperately need the steering knuckle (even just the bottom half) that ges with this steering rack. Any takers? This one I am willing to fork out some cash for - doesnt have to be free Cheers! Damian.

Further research shows me that E30 rear arms will fit on the 2002 also - I THREW A FULL SUBFRAME AWAY DAMNIT!! If anyone has complete E30 rear arms/hubs/ebrake setup they want to swap for a ride in the 2002 or very little cash - please let me know! Thanks, Damian.

Hi all- I just converted the 2002 to adjustable height & damper coilovers in the rear - now its time for the brakes too. I am after a pair of e21 (323 I think) rear trailing arms, as they have stronger shock mounts and rear disc brakes. If anyone can point me in the right direction, please let me know! Cheers!

Still for sale, just give me a PM, thanks!

In terms of SPL, she is over 150dB now, should be over 160 easily. There are tiny little BMW emblems on the centres of the cooling fans too

Interesting idea, but FYI there are some screens that come built into sunvisors that look a bit more like they are supposed to be there Or take out the internals of your screen and put it into your factory sunvisor.... sorry I can just imagine how odd it looks!

Sorry to jack your post, but is it just the coupling that needs to be swapped over or the whole shaft? I was under the impression that the small shaft on the couplings were what changed between the power and non-power steer, or is that not the case?

Darren - as I mentioned in a post further up, I am using a tilton dual master cylinder setup & pedal because the factory booster setup got in the way of the turbo piping. The Dynalites run a very different bolt spacing; I have a set of dynalites to run on the back of the 2002 (has drums at the moment!) Cheers for the info!

Funny, thats the conclusion I have come to as I did the other side - I have several different pairs of the calipers, and some versions just use hollow metal rods inbetween the caliper sides to create the gap. Cut them down and presto - smaller caliper Cheers! i will post some more pics of the updated install

Sorry I should mention that the spacer bolts to the pad - there are holes in the backing plates of the wilwood pads to accomodate this. So you have no risk of falling out.As far as the spacer binding, how would that happen? I cant see it being any more prone to it than the pad by itself, infact I think it would move more smoothly given that the wider area against the guide bolts has less opportunity to move at an angle to the caliper and create a jamming effect. Any other possible problems it could cause? Im all ears because it will take me just as long to machine up the spacer as it would to make a spacer bracket to fit the bigger rotors. I just dont see the need to waste the new factory rotors when I still utilise the full pad area up against them?

That must be it. And if they dont have your vehicle they will take a mould off your old carpets for free.

The brake calipers were obviously made for a much larger rotor, there is a serious mismatch in parts used here. Use larger rotors to suit, or smaller calipers that match the rotor size properly. Sorry Damo, I am not trying to rain on your party, I really like the projects you are working on at the moment, an M30 turbo is a serious bit of gear, and the 2002 Touring looks cool too, certainly a bit outside the square which I always like! But I think you could get yourself into trouble with this brake setup so thought I would express my concerns. Anyway, enough from me, time to wander back out in the garage and do some work on mine....... I completely agree with you that it is not ideal BUT I would not have even considered the pad spacer if I had not seen it used on other vehicles with the same brakes. One side will not get any hotter than the other with an Ali spacer, and the pads run along the top of the caliper as a guide so have nowhere to fall out. I intended to use the larger rotors originally, and may still do so if the factory rotors cant cut it. It is essential to use a pad spacer to ensure even extension on both pairs of pistons, and it is no different in caliper function than shimming the caliper at the mounts. This cannot be done due to the factory mount point position. I will let you know how they go and if there are any amendments to the design.

Yep, there is a place here in NZ that does new moulded carpets in any colour you want for $200 so thats the next plan seeing as everything else in the interior is black!

Cheers Will definetely be soundoff material; ony been in a week so much tuning to be done before we can post any figures. BTW anyone out there got a decibel meter?
-
If you think what you can see isnt natural you probably dont want to know how many batteries are under the rear seats OH and BTW its all made modular to come out for race days; and hollows have been made for the rollcage to reach to the rear pillars so its form AND function
-
Still have it, check out my race brake install in the performance section! I am in the process of rebuilding the turbo'd M30 thats in it at the moment also.Yes thats the plate it stil has, and yes some little faggots stole one wheel in Newmarket back when it had chromes. I guess they needed a cool coffee table
