There was a thread about new bilstein shocks a while ago, if you dig it up you might find something useful. But then again.. you probably wont.

We shouldve taken you for a jam in matts car when we were up your way, then you would FEEL the benefit! If the shocks you are looking at are in good nick you will be pleasantly suprised, the bilsteins are nice and firm yet comfortable. If the springs are right for the shocks the car will handle great around corners and will accelerate/decelerate alot better over bumps and rough terrain. All in all a great compromise between handling and ride comfort. If the current shocks in your car are old its probably a good idea to replace them anyway. If they are yellow they might be monroes.. or bilsteins

Offset wise, no they wont. When I run these without spacers ive got a few mm of clearance to the side of the caliper. If it helps I can take photos of mine with spacers to give you an idea?

Does anyone have or know of any cheap cars for sale that would be suitable for a hack/daily driver? Must have Reg & WOF (or easily brought to WOF standard) Not too fussed if its a BMW or not.. Ideally wont spend more than $600 because its just going to be a run around. Cheers, Jason

Its because the water pump stops turning when you shut down the motor and the water inside gets nice and toasty, when you turn it over again it starts up the cooling system and brings the cooler water back around.

I got a really sweet deal, so didnt pay too much more than what your asking for yours. From what Ive seen so far its a sweet camera. Read the manual
