Didn't bother because it stayed fine at the correct temp. That fan when I had it kept it perfectly cool in hot as temps last summer. That airleak must of been causing all the issues.

What happened to the electric fan that was on it? When I drove that car just after I put the m50 in it would get hot with no fan, so definitely put one back in if the one I put in has gone walk about.

Also, when they are stuck on, if i turn the key off when they are sitting perfectly at the bottom of the wiper windshield ( if i turn the key off at any other point they just stop where ever ) then when i turn the key on they wont start up again until i flick the stalk. This just causes them to be stuck on again.

I've got this facelift e30 and it has an intermittent fault. Basically, sometimes the wipers and washers just randomly turn on and the only way to stop them is the pull the relay out or turn the car off. I've had teh car for a few weeks and this has happened twice. Last time it managed to fix itself for a week, but it's just come back today. I've replaced the wiper stalk and the relay and I still have the same problem. Does anyone know what it could be? I'm guessing wiring, but I'm confused as both the washers and the wipers are stuck on. They seem to be stuck on the middle speed. If i pull the low speed wire out of the relay it enables me to use the wipers on only full. This is a temporary fix for now. Also I've just unplugged the washer jets. Anyone have any idea what wires I should be testing or what I should be looking for? Cheers in advance.

It's a 10 minute job if you know what you are doing. I'd say take it to a shop and just pay, it wont be expensive. I'm not sure how much a new pulley is though, but I cant see them costing the earth. This isn't a big job. Just get it fixed until you poke your entire engine.

Yea but now that the belt is probably as loose as a goose it could easily come off and cook your engine. Don't be a muppet. Get it fixed. It's not a difficult operation.

Not really missing having a car at all aye, spending my money on something which I think is more worth while so i'm happy I would be quite happy to see that GSR BOV thing in ditch.
