  1. Arrrgggg. Living on the West Coast. Haven't had my boat out at all yet. Normally the wind will die down just before Christmas so it's a waiting game. But the fishing out here is amazing when you do get out.
  2. Had a good result with painting the rims. The last clear coat I used gave the paint a greenish tint to it. This time I used Rust-Oleum crystal clear enamel and it's come out much brighter.
  3. I had a look and cant see them there. Either they've sold or the listing ended. I'm always looking though so I'll keep an eye out for them.
  4. Theres been a set on TM for a while for about $1100. I'm at work so I cant look it up but if you dont find them I'll post up the link tomorrow.

    [ E30 ] VERSION 2

Awesome thread. Top notch work going into this. Keep it up. Bit jelous over the Getrag too.
  6. lol. Nice to see I'm not the only one who does car work inside the house..
  7. Looks like they're used on all sorts of platforms. Not trying to give you any ideas Michael..lol
  8. He's running a stock M62. He's also put larger rotors in the M112 case adding 9% volume and water/methanol injection. Apparently theres so much torque 1st gear is useless. I'd be happy with the stock 3in pulley which gives about 8lbs boost.
  9. Sure is. He got this to work using larger injectors, a larger maf and fmu. No tuning and on the stock dme. He's getting 9-10lbs boost with a 2.8in pully. So the potential is there for more if the trans can handle it..lol
  10. Maybe there's someone around here who's good with fibreglass who could do a bonnet with a subtle buldge..lol It should fit under there without modifying the bonnet though a subtle buldge in the bonnet could be a nice touch..
  11. Ok then..lol. A few of you guessed. Probably cause I couldn't help myself and had to throw that other pic out there. A guy managed to get one of these working on his 540i. As it's the same engine as my M60B40 theres no reason why it wont go into my 740i other than it might be a tight squeeze to get the throttle body in the back of the engine bay. We'll see. This is a much cheaper option for boost than going Dinan or VF centrifugal.
  12. Just been given the email address of the guy who made the adapters in the pic so I'll flick him an email as I'm told he has more than one set laying around. Next step would be to fit these.. Just to keep you all guessing..lol
  13. Cheers. Was going to fix that when I got home from work this morning but you beat me to it..lol
  14. I'm trying to work something different out for my car and dont want to say too much at the moment. I'm looking for someone who can, working from pictures and parts measure up and make adapter plates similar to the one on the left of this pic. Any suggestions. http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=522458&d=1421979786

    E28 M535i

Yup, I'd be stopping ya in the street to talk about your car too. Very nice.
  16. Looking forward to seeing yours as well Andy. You'll have to post up some pics of your E38 one of these days.
  17. lol. She's a bit rough around the edges but still my baby.. A coat of paint will do wonders though. No worries. Still a good idea and I may try another place yet. They said they do wheels all the time but I was a bit dubious when I saw the results, especially when they said they would paint right over the top of that finish.
  18. Seeing the work you've done on this I cant wait to see what you do with the rest of the car. Looks very smart.
  19. I sprayed a bit of silver paint on the rim so it would show the pitting better after being sandblasted. Sitting in my living room with a plastic tarp on the floor and a couple of old towels on the coffee table wet sanding a rim while I watch tv...lmao.
  20. Went out and had a look at my 735i. Heres a pic of what should be in that hole.
  21. Congrats Andy. Must be a bit sad to see it go though after all the work you'd put into it. Hope it's going to a good home.
  22. Yeah, mightycarmods is good. I partiularly liked this one where they take a VW that has no street cred. On no budget they mod it and take it to a Japanse Custom car show and park it up. Funny that so many people where drawn to their VW. https://youtu.be/s7Iv42AOZIk
  23. Had one of the rims sandblasted today and I have to say, I'm gutted with the results. Badly pitted and they didn't get into the wheel nut holes very well. Also paint left where the balancing weights where . All in all I'll probably spend more time now using a filler undercoat and sanding than I did when I used the stripper to remove the paint. So back to the stripper for me. On a positive note I've been experimenting with clear coats and funny enough the cheapest has given the best result. I'll post up some pics of the different rims with the paint used so you can see the results.
