You guys are bad. lol. You shouldn't encourage me like that. The 728i and 730i idea had crossed my mind though..ha ha. In truth I think this will end up as a parts car. It was in the Wanganui/Manawatu floods. I've purchase it unseen(again). It was flooded to the top of the sills and you can see in other pics I've got where is seeped into the car. There was about a couple of inch's of water in the foot wells. Still. Was a good buy at $600. Sure I'll get more than that worth of parts out of it. http://www.manheim.co.nz/damaged-vehicles/item/itemunavailable?itemID=000000000004480003

Someone on here said it'd be cool if I had seven 7's. I cant remember who it was but if I do remember I'll be kicking ya for putting that idea into my head. PIcking it up sometime this week.

This is interesting. http://www.automobile-catalog.com/list-bmw.html

Yup, Not like he was zig zagging all over town either. He's pretty much done what I'd assume was a standard circuit for his garage to test the vehicle.

Just for you Glen..lol Actually it was on my to do list so they came off today.

It was one of these end of life tenders I stole my 750i. This could be a similar tender. Car runs and drives ok apparently. Has only been placed in end of life tender due to it's age and mileage. 192k. Someone steal this car and save it from going to a wreckers. https://www.turners.co.nz/Damaged-Vehicles/Search/BMW/540i/14061748/

Just home from dinner at a friends where a couple of modern hippies where taking everyone to task over the cars we choose to drive. Had a small smile on my face when they asked what type of car I drove there. "A BMW V12" was my response and the hippes where none to happy about that and began grilling me about my excessive use of fossil fuel. I placated them by explaining that my other car has a smaller engine and I dont actually drive the V12 that much. "So whats your other car" they asked. And I proudly announced it was a BMW V8 with a huge smile on my face.. ha ha I got the feeling they thought I was taking the piss out of them. Kinda was. lol I did like the look on their faces when the V8 came out.. Bloody do gooders.

The best E38 review I've seen
-
That looks gorgeous in that color. But I do have a complaint. YOUR BEING A TEASE. 2 photos is not enough. More please.
-
I'm not too far behind you with the 750i. But the 740i's still a baby at only 140k
-
Welcome back. Nice to have another E38 around. I'll be looking forward to seeing the pics.
-
Well, glad you came back. It's nice to know I'm not alone.
-
I'm a happy camper now. Nice to have some company with another E38 on the boards. Have you got any other plans for it other than getting it going?
-
Your absolutely right Glen. Mud flaps have to go. Though I will be replacing them with these. Towbar's going too. Since I've decided to keep the 740i as my daily that'll stay the tow car.

Waiting for a new Fan Shroud and oil filter tank mounts to arrive. A wash and polish today. Looked so good in town under the lights I had to snap a couple of pics. I either need a better camera or I'm just sh*t at taking pics..lol

ha ha. Fine till you open the doors and it folds in half. Would be interesting to see it with the rear doors welded closed and the fronts doors stretched a bit.
-
This is just embarrassing.
-
Thats HAWT.

Did you realise thats the same car as in the pic I posted? Very nice car that one. The owners on another E38 forum that I'm a member of.

After driving the 750i for just over a week I had both flat tires on the 740i fixed today and driving it around I'm reminded how much I love this car. I was contemplating selling it to buy a smaller car as my daily and using the 750i as a weekend car but after not driving it for a week and getting back into it today I've decided that I'll be keeping it as my daily. It feels so much more grounded and in touch with the road than the 750i. Who needs a smaller fuel bill anyway. Suspension mods are most definitely on the to do list for the 750i now!
