Smaller ones if you've got them! Like it though
-
I know of 2 people who have them. http://www.classiccar.co.nz/articles/turbo...ater-ford-rs200 http://www.genuinevehicleimports.co.nz/the...n.asp?pageId=21

I'm not criticising on price - its your money and you should spend it how you see fit! I think you're safe from too many people copying you too - not exactly a bad thing.
-
I think price may restrict the number of catcher-oners. I love them - I reckon it looks hot.
-
Do I take it from this thread that we get to see a mega hp big turbo M20? Do like.
-
Oooh - I remembered one. M20 intake boot split fixed with electrical tape, duct tape AND zip ties. Semi-permanent fix as both tapes and zip ties are black and it works good.

Heads up for those looking to buy a low mileage M3 CSL

That's awesome. Inspect carefully for satin black. -

If its been repossessed I my first thought is that the owner has far more on his plate than worrying about whether he's lost one of his toys! -
The rear seats are a theoretical exercise for most adults (children or shorties fit fine), but the backs fold down and make a nice shelf. It's warm back there though - you're sitting on 200kg of aircooled engine and gearbox, haha.
-
That's what makes a Turbo. There are much nicer wings than that one! Eg: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-281784963.htm

You know, I just had a look in the WOF VIRM and I can't see a requirement for an odometer (speedo yes, odo no). If you don't require it, presumably its not required to be accurate. Maybe ask them to show you in the WOF rules where it says you need to have an odometer. http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/virm-in-...le-interior.pdf

There's a spring? http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E30/4-do...ake_pad_sensor/

But you can't see the outside when you're sitting in it. Hmmm. I guess you just need to keep your eyes closed as you walk up to it, LOL.
-
As I doubt they make 2 sets of adjusters, its probably 51mm --> you should ask. Also, might not be captive - probably not possible to tell without trying.
-
Or maybe see if any of the Mini racers are based in CHCH? Or better, I see there is a South Island championship: http://www.mini7.co.nz/mini7

Its official - you are actually my hero. Its no so much what you get done, but that its quick and thorough as well. Plus I obviously like 02s.
-
I wonder why - they appear to be similar weight (maybe 5% less for the M Coupe). If anything the Evo has superior gearing. I'm not doubting by the way - have been in an M-Coupe race car (basically a standard one with a cage) and it was FAST. While I remember, the slight "shunting" in my car on and off the throttle which I told you about was knackered rear trailing arm bushes, so E36 owners (no, not you Z3 / M-Coupe / compact owners), check your bushes.
-
You wanna buy one for the 340? Cheap. Comes with a free extra gear you can't use!
-
Those mufflers are a sight to behold from that angle! (late edit for terrible spelling)
-
That was the second thing I did!
-
Arrrrghhhh my eyes. Someone buy it and change the gear knob! First thing I did on my car. Horrible to look at, horrible to use.
-
To counter that, I too have had good experiences from BM Workshop in Grey Lynn.

To answer one of the original questions, the engine and box, assuming they are in good condition and have most of the ancilliaries, the loom and the ecu attached is probably around $8-10k worth. As a pretty good M3 is generally under 20k, with the engine installed, bigger brakes and diff, decent suspension and a bunch of other bits on top of that, it will be cheaper and so much less hassle to sell the engine/box to someone wanting to put it into a race car or E30, sell your 318i and buy an M3.
-
I agree. Does it really matter if its not OMG low. I haven't posted a pic of my car as its so boring - it looks like an E36 on unmodified M suspension. Not everyone wants a car set up to plow snow - I've got places to drive (eg, work carpark) where I'd rather not scrape something 2x per day.
