Well really only need a non rusty outer metal panel, I already got a price for painting one, but mine has too much rust to repair!

Just picked up a 740i e32. I've a budget allocated for tuning, maintenance etc but I hadn't planned on the significant lacquer peel this has. Sections the size of a4 sheets on every panel! What is a reasonable fix, price wise, for this, either diy or paying someone (wellington area)?

I'm interested, just need to find time to google is the rears fit into an E28 and what would be required to re-stitch them (ie professional or DIY possible).

I can't recall if the last one was manual, but it was for sure sub $10k, i think around $4k and no one was interested. That was only 2mths ago.

Yes you can, I wondered this too, after installing a set in my E28. Asked the WOF guys, they said it was fine. When getting engine swap certified the certifier also said it wasnt a thing they cert either. So its all good.

Thanks to Hawk188 I got an Esys version up and running, however having to set the data with a Admin level script to get ESys Premium launcher working takes my machine off the Web (as Google etc pick it up as a hacked pc). I have a yellow E-Net cable, but I cannot test if this setup is even working. This would be fine if I was doing it on my own car in my garden, but I was just trying to help out friend.. getting a bit OTT with all the hoops and BS the launcher guys put in place. @promo, what do you charge to do a radio region recode on a BMW F20 (2012 116i)?

Well I've only seen and been in the demo model ix3. I haven't seen the iX1 at all. But I read online: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1976425 "I was surprised to learn the X1 has more headroom and legroom than the X3. Shoulder room is only 0.8 inches better on the X3 so not significant. Boot/cargo space in the iX1 is 490 litres vs iX3 510 litres so a bit more daylight between the two on that front.

The only quote I got so far was $1290. Is that normal? Seems way over the top to me. Its for an Audi Q7.

Id love a look at if (we are also in Wellington) if you want to show it off? You can compare it to our Tesla if you want. We considered an iX3 and were all set, but bank pulled finance. I suspected at the time if the iX1 was available at the same time, I would get the iX1 over the iX3. Somehow its AWD, Faster, LARGER on the inside and cheaper than the iX3. Its a real weirdness of the BMW EV lineup.

My old 530i, same engine as this, has over 300k km and still going strong.

Unless you have an absolute hard on for the manual conversion but would rather spend 20k for someone else to do it, then yes! Near half the price and you also get half the mileage (130k less or something!?) and has the newer M60 Alusil (not the better M62 mind you, I checked MDecoder and this is a 1995 build car) engine which doesnt have any of the fuel sulpher problems of the original M60, which admittedly isnt much of an issue outside the US/Russia/India etc. Id be ditching the 19" wagon wheels unless you dont intend driving it but like looking at it. 18" absolute max on that era BMW (ie this is a chassis shared with the BMW E32).

Presume you take working bits from a flooded car and use them to like, upspec a base model right? Some proper M Cars ruined as cars popping up on TM.
