E30_318i

Thought so. I was staying in Taupo but was coming back from a drive around the lake, near Turangi. Wasn't in the E34 tho, took my Mercedes. A lack of pimped out E30s was good for a change over the season.

E36, so bloody boring now. I took note of more E39s though. Paul were you driving south of Taupo yesterday afternoon? Pretty sure it was you, but there were no mud flaps.

You have to ask the question... WHY? Its obviously his pride and joy but I can't stand f**king posers in their 318i autos, or even worse, 1.9 190E autos going around with all that pimp sh*t on them. the fact that a new turbo diesel 4WD Rodeo or Navara would show em whos boss down the strip makes them look even more pathetic. Typical, always got someone to blame, other than themselves, not that Katrina could have been avoided. Just think of the uproar if a white man blamed something of that calibre on a (inappropriate language - watch it). I can't imagine it would be all that hard to pull consistent times in an RS6. I think they are auto. For the manual drivers, whats the best technique for a quick run? The 525 never breaks traction, so I've dropped the clutch a couple of times at 4500rpm, but don't have the means to compare different techniques and their times. I'm in Auckland next year, looking foward to taking the Benz there :mosh:

My old E30 did that, turned out to be a broken engine mount, sent shocks thru the whole driveline, mostly at traffic speeds. That would probably be worst case senario, I don't know if driveline shunt is common on E30s.

Na, M20 pulls hard to redline, 2.5 at least. I will admit that going to the redline in my barge up the Rimutukas is a waste of time though. Maybe you aren't sticking it in 3rd. I've grinded the gears by hitting the spot between 1 and 3, but I reckon 2-3 gear change to be one of the best (not notchy like 1-2 or 4-5).

Sorry dont agree with the M3.....its a concept no different to the Lotus Cortina...the RS1800 Escort, the TE27 Corolla Levin, the AE87 Corolla, the HR31 Skyline, the 190E Cosworth.....stick a hot twin cam engine into a everyday shell and beat the opposition, while its up there in the BMW Motorsports arena, the 3.0CSL was more significant sporting coupe...especially in the Group 5 variation Ok fair enough. When I typed it I was thinking of the E30 Evo. So maybe instead of the whole M3 range, just focus on that one model like they did with the Corvette or that 300SL Benz. Hell, the most successful touring car should be on that list instead of a car which has featured in a couple of movies (DB5).Does anyone else see that E Type jag as a melted piece of plastic? Similar to the Ford Tauris. I can think of better looking cars, seems most journos can't.

Twas sh*t. They kept on refering to the Skyline as just that. Which is pretty much a Japanese Falcon or Commodore. Skyline GTR would have been more accurate, as the rest are nothing special. rxsumo hit the nail on the head. Biasness aside, the M3 should have been in there, E30 at least.

If they are the same as the E34, drain should run from the back of the sun roof down the C-pillars. You will probably need a torch to see them, with the roof open. I have only cleared my front drains, using a sort of harder fishing/weedeater wire, and an air hose. I know that in the E34, the drains end at the start of the front doors and at the end of the rear, at the jack points. I can't remember of the E30 though. Its a real c**t, I had it in my E34 and the carpet foam is a few inches thick!

If it sounds good I always engine brake down hills, and rev match. As well as tunnels, have the windows down when passing a tall truck while flogging the sh*t out of it, as it echoes straight back into the cabin. Above 3000rpm, the engine overcomes the diff whine in the 525 Both of mine sounds better from the outside, bugger for me.

Awesome. But I'm doubting the launch control for the long term. When I do eventually buy a used ///M, I will be sh*t scared to even consider one of them. Three pedals rule anyway. Is there anyway to save those google videos to the computer?

Semi synthetic 10W-40 Thats what I just put in my 525i but I think it might burn thru it a bit quickly.

I got about 150km off $30 gas last week. Works out to about 13l/100km. I would think an auto would be a sh*t load more. My 525 manual has a bit of driveline shunt, but ya learn to aviod after a while, and if light clutches are your preference, go for an economy car :gay:

Out of all the popular cars on the road the Bangle Bimmers will age the best imo. They could look boring like Audi or Mercedes so its not all bad. Find me a better looking BMW than this. f**king beautiful.

E34 - M20 1988 onwards. Try a technical bookshop and see what they could do. I bought my E30 one off amazon.com, all up $120 I think, but I doubt you'd get a discount off there.
