  1. While a less common shock & Spring Koni Sports & Eibach Springs also do a very nice job. as a side note even 14" weaves look pretty good, but 15 weaves are just right IMO.
  2. Do it More BMW's and more girls the better. Good work Riley, Send those pics into performance car & see what they say. Looks better than some of their cover's !!!
  3. Any comment on the coupe vs the sedan and coupe rigidity wise ? i would not have expected it to be much worse. I don't know about such things but perhaps it might be the sort of situation where a rear reinforcement bar across the shock towers might help flex a wee bit ? Please excuse my lack of engineering knowledge and reason.
  4. Even mint bearings, it would be a good idea to put new ones in away! so much easier to do it now than running a main later on ! It would be a real shame to have to pull the block apart later on since its already been done ! ( however unlikely !! edit : sorry to hijack
  5. Check Pm's Riley Ray Will give you a call if i can't get some from Riley's mate Thanks guys
  6. It might be the expensive way but if nobody can sell you a flywheel you can have one made up & the ring gear from your Automatic flex plate can be pressed onto the "new" flywheel centre. A drive shaft can also be custom lengthened. Both of those are the expensive / hard ways to do it but anything is possible... even if you CAN'T get parts
  7. http://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFro...155880153&C This is the reinforced Mount From IE I might just have a measure up under the car and have a couple of these made for me They look pretty easy to whip up on Auto cad, at least i would mean i could run a larger sway bar later if i decided the 325 one wasn't enough. It would still be easier getting some stock ones since my rubber bushings look like brand new & i would rather put money into getting my front koni's on the car
  8. Bumpity Need a set of these so i can put my swaybar on Even if i could borrow one so i could make a drawing of it and have it made for me.
  9. Pedal Pressue shouldn't feel too light on an E30 I would describe it as good medium feel to a good clutch ( solid but not too firm ) Try bleeding it ? perhaps I had a master cylinder fail on me while driving and after it failed i could not engage the clutch at all There was some pedal pressure but that pressure was only forcing fluid out of the resivour Even if you are going to replace the clutch disc and pressure plate, getting the masters & slave done is a good idea anyway as the cars are old and its really horrendous to get stuck in the middle of nowhere without a clutch. (been there done that, think starting the car in 2nd and to change into 3rd having to let the revs drop and very carefully change gear with no clutch ) If you do try and bleed the existing or new master/slave it can take a while for it bleed up.
  10. With Eibach springs Koni Shocks & urethane all around the rear of the car mine is not that quiet but i believe with some decent rear tires( not cheapo Chinese ones) it would make a huge difference. I Think the Urethane Rear Shock mounts made the road noise a bit louder also. It is a firm ish ride and a little bumpy on a rough road but i prefer it to being all floaty on a rough road.
  11. With the sump off the car it can be cleaned and welded, if you can find the leak it might be worth a box of beer for somebody to weld up for you . If you know somebody in the fabrication business they could setup a mig welder to run on alloy for it to be welded.
  12. Hi Guys I Have acquired a 325 Rear sway bar complete with bushings & links However i need the metal bits that go over the bushings and clamp the swaybar to the chassis. Its the bit that looks like this

    Laptop

I also Have a high spec Acer ( or it was when i got it 2 years ago ) 2.0 ghz Core 2 duo 256mb video ram 4gb ram 120gb hdd with SATA & PCIE The quality of the product is good it has not broken or stoped working however Acer really need to sort their sh*t out as far as customer service, ( long story nobody wants to hear ) And on that Basis alone i do not recommend them. However like most things certain models from certain brands always lasted well or lasted longer. At my work we have HP , Dell & Toshiba laptops that are all 3 years plus and still going well. edit Regarding the MAC vs PC comments above I would Use a Mac computer if AutoDesk supported them with their CAD products as i would also use Linux if they had more support for high end applications. All the same, if you have a reason to have a mac thats great, but at this stage i have a reason to have Windows Based computer and its simply CAD software so apple really can't look after everybody, but i do admire some of cool stuff they have/do
  14. I think its 24mm or 26mm I used a socket and it was nice and easy to change
  15. Vote National, based on nothing but their Billboards are less ugly than Labours Clayton Cosgrove signs at every other corner...... No Really, I don't like Labours Socialism way of running the country, but then again everything i have seen in the past year has convinced me there is no good choice of vote because politics is still politics So I will vote national mainly because my family has traditionals been a national party & I do like John Key's no Bulls##t approach. But as I'm a first time voter its very difficult to know whats going on and what choice to make, therefore I am totally open to positive and negative views on my personal choice
  16. Despite My E30 Not looking very good and being a 4 door I always worry about it. A Mates Primeria got stolen from his driveway His other Car also got broken into. And my Girlfriends horrid old corolla even got broken into. ( ok 86 front wheel drive corolla why ? ) I just totally avoid parking my car on the street or where i can't see it if im visiting somewhere. Always get nervous leaving it at the movies. Polytech is ok because i can see it from the classroom window! I will get an alarm for both my cars when they eventually leave the garage from surgery.....
  17. Looks Great ! You have convinced me to do mine now, i was never quite sure how. I wish i had sport seats, but having leather at all is still a bonus !
  18. Don't have to use Coby's either I used 2x generic Resonators and staggered them to fit correctly on the twin pipe. Worked great, with a nice sound but not too loud.
  19. Rolls Royce Merlin v12 ? but seriously there are heaps of cool engine swaps on here, couple of different SR20 swaps, i recall a thread about an RB20 Swap and there is even a member with a 2jZ E30 Of course Riley's lexus v8 E30 has been mentioned. you could Even go Mikes Route and Turbo your existing engine alongside mega squirt engine management.
  20. Yep Vista 64 Ultimate.....thats why i have a duel boot with win xp so i can run apps that won't run on 64bit like Autodesk Inventor
  21. Cool, I really need to build a desktop PC. Hopefully you get that motherboard worked out, a had 3 duds in a row on my old desktop computer. Why can't you use the DVI output on your computer ? DVI is digital and the exact same thing as HDMI only thing you need is the DVI>HDMI cable A laptop has been fantastic while studying at poly tech and all but now i need something faster and as i don't need to have a computer with me all the time it would be a good idea. not to mention my laptop has a motherboard fault which only lets me have 3gb ram out of my 4gb installed. Don't worry I'm currently having a battle with acer as they had advertised it as being 4gb ready !
  22. The Red e34 is currently in the Showroom forum - Dam i love that car!
  23. Aha well i relocated back to my parents house and they already have the exact same TV So now mine has become a Massive computer monitor. With the DVI to HDMI cable plugged into laptop/TV it works great !
  24. I made mine like this and it works really well, don't see any need to buy a tool, i have actually used mine on other gearbox's and things too. Its not like engine oil that people change every 5000kms to 10,000 kms
  25. Hi Guys As Per Title 320i front sway bar that needs to be gone asap. its in n Christchurch and its the smaller one. ie 17mm ? $20 or give me a box of beer or something. Didn't really plan on shipping it anywhere but if you find out about it I am sure we could come to some arrangement. Or you might have something interesting to swap for it. Cheers James
