Just gave the car a wash, it had about 4 months of filth on it. Next time I update this the car should have had some Panel and Paint work (Colour Code Bumpers, but leave trim pieces black, fixed passenger side along bottom of door etc, (can See its dented in the pic). After that it should be lowered and have some nicer wheels, (eventually when I find some).

Yeah i managed to make $1500 on my E39 without trying, funny thing is the new owners been trying to sell it for months, I sold it within 2 days. I only paid 4k for it and it had 98,000k, however the car had some history regarding accident damage, that is I could see sanding marks in the paint on some bits and the paint job seemed a bit average, other wise i'd have kept it and still be driving it now.

Well, if its anything like the Housing Shortage in Christchurch, Supply vs Demand will rein supreme. House prices here have gone up a lot more then 15% in many areas due to the Earthquakes. I am building a new House in Rangiora (35kms to work each way) however it was 100k cheaper then building within CHCH for the same size section and house. I guess eventually everyone will be driving Suzuki Swifts, Daihatsu Sirions, Toyota Yaris and other such junk. Or worse, cars from China, like Greatwall, Geely, etc. Eventually the price of used cars may force many people into those options. I see on the Toyota Website there's now 3 models of the Prius.. heh The modern used car I hate seeing the most is the PT Cruiser + all the Hybrids

Z3 Shifter ordered, Geniune BMW Gearknob (the one I have is crap). Gearboot with Plastic Surround. I need the shorter throw, my last manual e30 must have had one and I got used to it. So far not too many issues, Reverse Lights don't come on every time when Selecting reverse, the sensor is now going to be hard to replace now that the gearbox is installed Car is missing a Y Shaped bracket, exhaust/gearbox support type thing I assume.

Nice, i found one with the plastic base for $15 USD. You may be able to order one through Repco, as Sunland make them, although it may be limited to Repco in Aussie.

Yeah the boot I purchased didn't come with it. annoyingly they all show the plastic surround in the pics on ebay, but then in the description (Plastic surround not included) heh

I just copied the part numbers from ebay and ordered from autohaus, same parts, cheaper price

Manual conversion complete Just need to find a gearknob that fits properly (the so called e30 one I got from ebay is useless) The boot also needs a plastic surround. But yes, the car goes much better now its manual Next up, panel and paint, then wheels and suspension

I've been driving the 190e for a few weeks, as the e30 is under going the manual conversion, I miss driving the E30, it is more fun to drive (even when auto) the suspension seems a lot stiffer in the e30 and the handling a lot sharper, however the 190e is rather comfy and has hardly any road noise at all resulting in being able to hear the car stereo really well, the E30 seems like it has way more rattles and road noise etc.

Seems odd that its a Carby engine, mines a 190E 2.3, but it does have one of those big aircleaner things like you see on carby cars. the 2.3 model is a slug too. but so far mines been good, only thing I had to fix was the heater fan, which took about an hour (was siezed) unsiezed it with copious amounts of CRC etc.

I'd be going for an E36 M3 Evo in 6 speed manual form, it would do 0-100 in a decent time and be fun to drive, assuming your budgets upto 20k ish?

Its getting there, still waiting for a rear support bracket for shifter to turn up, I ended up ordering one through BMW. How do you find the Diff ratio and LSD on yours? mines still got a non LSD medium case diff with assumed 3.64 or 3.73 ratio.
