Hey Monsta.... did you end up buying this car? Think I saw it today driving along Barbadoes Street. If so, you should come along to the Chch meet this weekend.
-
I got a paintshop to mix a touch-up pottle of Boston Green, so don't see why not.Â

Oh, was just about to PM with an offer of $13k. Oh well. Haha, jokes! Glad you're keeping it, looks mint.

There's a dude on trademe selling genuine clear tails for 200 bucks each. Certainly cheaper than $340 to fix one!!!
-
Hmmm.... I know the genuine German cars headed off the assembly line to AC Schnitzer, but I think your car is Japanese (will say "JPN" in the centre of the speedo). This means the car was put together in Japan using a "complete knockdown kit" sent over from Germany. Perhaps the ACS spec cars were sent over with the kit too? I'm not sure, would be interesting to find out.
-
Can you tell if the ACS kit was fitted from the factory?.... not sure if those options are on the list or not.

Thought I'd revive this thread instead of starting a new one. Here's a quick pic of my new m-style rear diffuser that I bought off Mike aka 323e30. Looks the business! My clear light kit should be here tomorrow with any luck so I'll update with pics once I've got those installed too. You Chch lads better ooh and aah at the meet this Sunday! Haha!

where did jochens e46 frequency conversion go?

Here you go! -
The 3.2 Evo's are known for problems with the Double VANOS system which can be incredibly expensive to fix. I'm sure if you buy carefully you won't run into problems, but the 3.0 is generally more bulletproof according to a lot of people.

That's really cool. I'd try it with my car, but I'm guessing the only previous owner was a balding Japanese sales rep whose main thrill with the car was getting out of second gear while in rush hour traffic! On the other hand, my grandmother owns a E28 528i that my grandfather brought back from Germany with him in the early 80's, now that might have an exciting history.

The main things that changed on the facelift cars were the nose panel, kidney grilles (rounded fins and slightly more trapezoidal look to them) and sidemarkers. If your car was built after 9/96 you have the facelift model. I think you can check the build date by lifting up your rear seat squab, your build sheet will be stapled to the underside. Whip that out and it should tell you. It will also give you a bunch of numbers which coincide with different options it came with from the factory. I've attached the list for reference. You, my friend, are a legend.... please post pics once you've taken delivery.

Please don't change the basketweaves.... they look hot as they are!! Just drop it a bit and it will look the business!!

This was covered a while back here. I still believe that a trader who sells porn, vibrators, male g-strings and such probably doesn't have the best interests of your car in mind when selling these things!
-
I believe the fair trading act may disagree with you there. Get real.

As Penry said, this is not a case of tall poppy syndrome. If I was jealous of him because he was doing something I wish I'd thought of first then sure..... but it's nothing to do with that. We basically stopped some douche from defrauding fellow car enthusiasts into buying registration plates that are illegal to use in New Zealand. And I think that's pretty darned nice of us!
-
Woohoo! With our powers combined.... we are BIMMERSPORT!!! Good job people!
-
Way ahead of ya... have reported this guys listing and wrote pretty much what you typed there! (except for the getting fined part) Haha!
-
On further thought I feel that what this guy is doing is absolutely unethical. There are many people out there who don't know about germanplates.com and think they can only get Euro-style plates through this rip-off merchant. Sure, if he had a contract with germanplates to sell their product in New Zealand that would be sweet as. But he's simply sitting on his arse buying plates off their site for the retail price and then hiking that price by almost 100%. However, as far as I know it's not against the law to do such a thing... so there's nothing an angry bimmersporter can do about it!
-
Someone is selling German Plates on Trademe.... looks to me like they're simply taking orders and then ordering them from germanplates.com! Is this allowed? Easy money though if potential buyers don't know any better.
-
I'm just impressed that you were going 40 km/h in reverse!!

Hmmm... an interesting debate is ensuing here. So, can someone tell me if I install a shock/spring kit (say H&R sport springs and appropriate Bilstein shocks), will I still end up with negative camber?
-
There's a good thread here that covers this topic. However it all comes down to personal choice. Just weigh up how important storage space/functionality/aesthetics/useability is to you and then choose a player that fits those parameters. FWIW: WIth regards to battery life etc, I've had my ipod for 3 years and no problems whatsoever
-
You've got excessive camber that's for sure. Do you have aftermarket springs installed in the car? Best to take it in for wheel balancing/alignment.
