Nice car, unsure about the clear indicators and Tints though. Indeed it has intrinsic value, but actual value may well be different.

Fit them, in body colour and keep rest as- is. Literally SE spec that way as you have the bumpers and lip.

I would prefer one of these over an E30 M3 because I don't want a road racer, but do enjoy something a bit different with a hint of fun and inherent uncommonness. In fact I would never own the E30 M3 simply to not be seen as a sheep. A barge the 190 may be, but the E30 M3 certainly ain't no Farina design.

Temperature has started to run on the cold side when coasting down hills or similar non- power situations. Really, can my car kill a thermostat THIS fast? It hasnt been a year yet!

A friend has had one of these from new (ok, not hard being as they aren't that old) and loves it. Says that it is the worst car he has ever had to parallel park though due to the positioning of wheels etc. The wheels are magnesium and worth a mint! He mentioned that BMW seconded a couple/few engineers to Morgan for a good amount of time specifically to re-develop the 4.4. Not a beautiful car like the classic models, but still striking. Haven't they had some pretty prestigious international industry awards for their production, and business sustainability?

There's only so far that people are willing to crystal ball- gaze on this one, they've offered initial suggestions now it's up to you. Buy a scanner on ebay/ trademe, or get a mechanic to visit you. You'll get what you pay for, and that includes not having to mess around asking people 200km away to send you a scanner they own, wasted time, time without car etc.

Have gotten the bellhousing off a 4-108 which has mostly the same holes, may need to tap some new. Starter looks like it will line up but must test fit. Will also need to make a new mount for it on one side. Will update here with the sump build.

The 323i Msport was a cool NZ spec'd model, nice and rare and worth getting I reckon. Unsure if they had the dogleg box but I feel they did? 'Were supposed to have a hotter cam, and lsd.

Cast would work, but yep big cost getting it right. My idea is draw up 2 plates on solidworks once I have the exact bolt patterns, give the .dxf to Profile Cutting Services to make up, then to another firm beside my work in East Tamaki to form sheet steel into a c.314 diam x 100 long cylinder then weld the plates to each end. With cutout and guard for starter obviously.

Ok so may be do-able after all. The axial length is only about 100mm so I can get away with cylindrical, as I was remaking the engine box cover anyway so will modify to fit. The engine bolt pattern (although it's just a plate anyway) is SAE, and the trans end is standard Borg- Warner so I reckon it's not such a difficulty. I'll just not include the redundant holes etc.

Transdiesel are my resource as one of their managers is part of a separate classic yacht trust we have. She isn't a Salar 40 but looks similar. In fact is the sister ship to an English boat designed as a sport fisherman for the head of then BOAC (British Airways) but with aft cabin where the cockpit would be. Her 120 ford shits all over a Perkins. Currently chasing a lead in picton of a Perkins for parts Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk

Hey most perkins are good! This one however wasn't the best model. Used in Austin/ MG cars around 1990. 28 ft 1930 Hard chine, stepped sheer bridgedecker. I don't boat to fish although nice to do to get lunch when cruising. Here are my babies

I'm in a bit of a pickle. One of my boats has a Perkins Prima M50 50hp diesel. It was left to sit for a long time (I have recently pried it off the old owner) with salt water in the bilge and anodes non- existent. Long story of discovery short, the alloy sump and bellhousing are TOAST. Each is 30% corroded to mush. NLA from Perkins dealers (1989 motor wtf??) and no parts in NZ. I am a design engineer but a fresh one. I can get a new sump made by profile cutting to drawing, and welding a box to it. The bellhousing however is more challenging as it is dished. Does anyone have experience in making/ designing bellhousings? I do not have access to a 5 million dollar CNC machine but have access to most else. Any magical resources for bolt patterns of engines perhaps?

Ideally I would have charcoal quattro-cloth in a white or dark blue car with carbon fibre trim. NZ only got wood and leather sadly. I think if I could afford a new BMW and I wanted a manual, I would test the options in auto cars then order the manual to take however long. But both my BMW and Audi are manual and all I want is an auto with the driving I do now.

I used to help out in my mother's menswear store. Something that I learned was That the most common size was around 97/38/xl in trousers and shorts, so she stocked the most of them. This meant that there was good choice for everyone in that range and they always found something they liked. This customer is less picky than the smaller customer. The smallest size 30,32/82/S was a tiny market comparatively, and there was only reason to stock a small number, or often none. The small customer would come in, be unimpressed with the much smaller selection than other sizes, not find anything he liked and leave with some smart remark. We are then stuck with a few items that aren't being bought and are staying on the rack getting old. Without the gift of telepathy as to what styles to order in the small sizes in advance, it's not viable to offer that customer the same range as higher volumes. For every 1 small sold, I'd say 3 went on heavy reduction sales often 70% disc. Our smalls didn't break even. We generally say if you really want it, order it and we will get it for you. They still don't. What i'm suggesting is that perhaps the elusive manual transmission customer is a little/ lot the same? Stock a manual, and the customer walks away as he didn't have the yard option of colour, or seats, nav, etc.

So the car was scanned all over today and usual fluids etc done. Myriad accessory related faults in history, yet no real engine ones. Crazy. Battery tests fine. All cleared and he's sure it will happen again soon so will take it back to get scanned at that stage.
