Rural property and build a hillclimb track, house would be situated at the top of this track with access road. Massive garage with a house off to the side. Basically get to the point where I can host local track meets for various different clubs / organisations who otherwise are limited to tracks they have access too.

Cursed and swore at a Merc driving too fast through roadworks giving me a chip in my windscreen, so went and got that repaired.

Never heard "Bob's your Auntie" I do like that though, may have to put that one to use

When you realise you only need to hold control / shift / mouse key while to pull yourself up, and just hold the letters down to grip it becomes easier.. 15m for me
-
And this happens when you attempt to unscrew the gear knob instead of pulling it off Mechanic broke mine and just shrugged it off, really pissed me off, does still seem to hold correctly still.

You get them apart with anger, rage.. and two new tie rod ends...... Well at least I ended up looking at tie rods and going, f**k it, ill just replace them, been a while The smacked the top with a hammer. have done it other times with a whack to the side and both have popped out, really comes down to whether or not the car decides to be co-operative on the day.

Came on to comment (have a little moan) about the 200km combined speed media comments and was beaten to it by obviously slightly more intelligent bunch of people than .. lets say the trademe forums.

Estimated cost of new engine + install
Phatputer replied to E36ShoppingTrolley's topic in Want to buy
If you have a few days to take your time and potter away at the engine. While engine was out. Cambelt, tensioner, water pump and seals. Camshaft seal, crankshaft seal, intermediate seal Gearbox will also be out, so new clutch I pulled the flywheel off and did the rear main seal while I was at it. Exaust and intake seals as they are a shitload easier to do out of the car than in Pulled the injectors and cleaned them up / changed rubber seals as well. I also took the opportunity to spend some time cleaning 20+ years worth of crap off the engine. Basics however I would 1) Change cambelt, water pump and tensioner 2) do the camshaft seal while you can 3) adjust all your valves and replace valve cover gasket -
The kiwi populace is fairly loose lipped when it comes to profanities, and generally its swearing and cursing being directed at pieces of machinery. We also don't seem to care much about tame swearing on TV / Radio compared to the US, its not a pad place to start to work out what is acceptable. Have a nosy here as well Kiwi Slang <-- pretty much what antil33t posted

Almost ran my brain out of oxygen trying to read that, got to the end and took a breath.

Just swapped my slave cylinder in the E30, picked up replacement one from Sims Brakes in Dunedin for around $60 + gst, Had to pull the rod from the old one and install into new one, pushed it firmly in, just sits in place didn't clip into place but with the bleed valve open you should be able to pump the slave cylinder and get fluid out, and with it closed you should still be able to pump it, just with a bit more pressure.

wanted: e30 tech 1 boot spoiler in christchurch.
Phatputer replied to w_elliot's topic in Want to buy
Get hold of _Mark_, he was selling his 325 recently which is in Chch, I sold him a tech1 spoiler which he never actually managed to get onto the car, this was in good condition although in white. -
Is she about to lift the car by the oilpan?

Powerbuilt do a full set of both torx and invers torx for about $60 - $70 Ended up having to get both while pulling apart and reassembling my e30's

Third party fire and theft with added glass cover for me Am covered to about 5k if someone else hits me, but if I cause the accident then bad luck to me, the other guy is covered which is really what matters. I see it as me taking personal responsibility for my driving, at least in the consequences for my own car.

We have an active group of tech minded friends working in various parts of the IT industry, this has become very very common. One of this group got called so he made the most of it, he stalled the guy on the phone for a good 25min while he installed a fresh install of Windows XP into a virtual machine, he then proceeded to let this guy in and spent the next two hours logging everything the guy did, he took periodic snapshots of the system as he went just to screw with the guy so things this Indian did could be reversed in a few seconds. i.e, when he declined / refused to purchase a support plan off them, using their remote access to his virtual machine they wiped all his info... which he returned a few min later. So brand new install of Windows and this scammer is running through his procedure to show him he has a virus, installs a few tools onto the computer, runs some basic DOS Scripts to make it look like the computer is scanning the machine and cleaning stuff off. We obtained a whole lot of information and ended up getting their payment site blocked by NZ ISPs for a few days till they switched hosts / DNS servers. End result is this fella wasted many many hours of these scammers time and was a giant pain in the ass to them.

Personally, one of the best runs I have done I hit accidentally while working up Central Otago way, Wanaka through to Haast, amazing road and very well maintained tourist route, hit it at a very nice time with very little traffic, beautiful scenery, challenging but well cambered cornering opening to a few nice stretches of road with all sorts of terrain changes. Stay strong Linden and good work, Good luck with the sleep, hopefully Christchurch stays relatively still for the next few days to let those who need to sleep / rest get what is needed for the massive task ahead.

Never thought of that, makes it a slightly easier one person job.

Oddly enough, have to do this today myself (note don't tighten bleed screw too tight, may end up sheering off bleed valve and have to replace slave cylinder) I believe, and this is by logic only and having the whole system apart and out of the car, that you bleed the system entirely by the slave cylinder, there isn't a place on the master cylinder to do so and it would be awefully difficult / messy due to its location behind the clutch pedal. You should locate your slave cylinder on passengers side of gearbox, on the lower back side of it should find a rubber grommet, remove that, you will see a bleed valve, 7mm spanner will loosen that and you will see fluid start to come out, this will squirt out when clutch depressed. Anyway, from here bleed like you would the brakes, its either a two person job, or a one person with a brick / broom handle / remote clutch depression device.

I do wish I couldn't do magic eyes, that was disturbing in 3D, was bad enough in 2D

Had noticed, figured it was similar to the "89k miles" on the clock, people being generous with the age of the car. Jeremy had an 88 -> also PFL with full Mtech 1, I thought PFL only went through till 87 James had an 89 -> everything points to PFL in regards to the look, front spotlights, front valance as such Richards would be the only one I suspect that has the actual year correct. Unless the Cabs had different manufacturing years, I know they were manufactured longer than the 4 doors and Coupes

Watched parts through my lunch break, looking forward to a good run through this evening. They managed to pick up some interesting Cabs, im sure there will be some venting from fanboys about the cars mis-representing the majority, or at least their ride.
