Spotted an extra low e36 sedan on e46 M3 rims this morning, parked on Raffles street in Napier, outside Greens Service Centre which Ive never seen before. Im guessing by the plate "DFL8TD" it was on bags.

Is that just the build up in the filter, or is the fuel in the tank that colour as well?? Be a big job to drop the tank and clean it all out if its all like that

Ive gotta agree with Ollie. Not entirely safe if the shocks are totally knaffed. Just had a look in our WOF manual here, basically under their performance, if they effect the directional control of the vehicle it can be failed. Id imagine they'd need to be quite far gone before Id fail a car for that. Usually by that stage theyre already leaking... Quite a grey area, alot of WOF issues can come down to the inspector at the time, and thier interpretation of the requirements.

Ive had this on my old E30, apparently its reasonably common too. Car would cut out while driving, and restart, just like you described. Eventually it stopped and wouldnt restart, thats when I traced it to the fuel pump relay. Easy as to replace, its like 2 minute job, got a 2nd hand one for $40.

I quite often find myself sitting at a red light, and keep shifting from neutral to first gear a few times, no idea why.

Definately gotta be plumbed back into the exhaust for a cert. IMO Wouldnt drive it without a wastgate, would hate to damage the engine and ruin all your hard work.

If its all about how it looks Id go for the 18's, never driven an e34 with both 17 & 18 inch setups to compare, but from what Ive read/heard, 17's handle alot better. Is that true or not??

Hes just lucky that hes in NZ and not the US, or he wouldve been a corpse about 20 hours ago.
