  1. TBH a little red flashing light would be a good deterrent. Most modern cars I have had have had just an immobiliser, our E60 and our Vectra have an alarm/immobiliser, the BMW emitted a high pitched sound that could be heard a mile away but wasn’t easily distinguished as a car alarm. The Vectra is hooked to the horn I believe witch is without a doubt the loudest horn I have ever heard, I would actually question if its legal, it’s that loud!
  2. Im no pro but one would think a factory alarm and immobiliser would be better as it is wired into the cars factory looms and would be hard to find for a thief as opposed to a aftermarket that has been retrofitted. If you go after market your key fob buttons would become useless also. Why the need for an alarm on a Accord, they are not commonly stolen and are hardly appealing to thieves, maybe save the money and get some puzzle nuts for the mags.
  3. NZ new?? It should have a factory immobiliser which is good enough to stop a thief and reduce your insurance costs and is most likely better than after market. My missus had one as a company vehicle for a couple of months and I enjoyed the time I had in it. Handling is great as is the ride and steering the Stereo was simply fantastic for a factory stereo (just about the best I have heard) comfy seats and a nice look. The engine was my biggest disappointment, had 0 torque and didn’t have the nice lift on cam VTEC effect of the older cars. Reliability wise I have no idea as it was company vehicle. If it’s a Japanese import I have no idea, they are a different spec to anywhere else in the world.
  4. I have heard this too, friend of mine (car groomer) swears by it for fixing chalky mouldings.
  5. Used some of that and gave it away, turned all my trim cloudy white in the E60 and E30. I have used Armorall for 20 odd years and have never had an issue.
  6. Just confirming, thought they may have had a few being Christchurch and Auckland based. Would be a bit of arguing over who uses what when and for how long with only two cars. Get some decent BMW’s and im sure a few of us would like to join up!
  7. How many cars do you have?? Just two??
  8. How exciting!! So these are dealer fitted accessories or special order from the factory?? How awesome would a 135i with all the kit be, might even beat the M3 That steering wheel is awesomeness.
  9. AFAIK Personalized plates is privately owned though...
  10. There are at least three that I know of, this one below in Ch Ch and one that is unregistered and serviced by CCS. My #1 dream car.
  11. Im sure there is a petition against the monopoly somewhere.. its nearly $900 to get a new euro P-Plate.
  12. We have told you what it is and things that can cause it, Google engine noise threw speakers for more info. Its alternator noise and can be a plethora of things, it really is a hard thing to pin point. Being Pioneer im banking on your pre-outs, it’s an internal thing. Send your deck in and get them to check it.
  13. Stink, I have heard that they are getting strict on this, reasons are to do with the font being different to NZ font and that some numbers and letters are hard to read.. I bet NZ plates are behind the push on it though. Ours are black with silver text and I haven’t had any problems.. Fingers crossed touch wood

    A Big Boy's Toy

Actually that would make him a huge Holden fan! Most (like 80%) of Holden fans I have met don’t know anything about cars let alone Holden’s. Mate of mine is a big Holden fan, socks to cap merchandise, 3 pre-millennium Commonwhores in the drive, you know the type, well anyway I told him I got a Vectra for the missus and he laughed stating its not a real Holden because it’s from Korea. I quickly informed him that the Vectra is an Opel and is from Germany and that if it wasn’t for them Holden would still be building Kingswood’s.. he gave me a blank look
  15. That will be the average price in a few months!! “grabs popcorn and sits back watching them prices tumbleâ€
  16. Yea, they get it hard, we really have no idea how lucky we are. I have heard of $3,000+ fines and long suspensions. I’d be advatisport.co.nz if we had their rules.

    My First Spinout!

Na, lucky it was a old Corolla so it didn’t have any buttons anywhere.. the relationship didn’t last long after that. My mate in the back thought I was a legend though, couldn’t do it again if I tried. Was like this I tell ya.. only no sand and less Arabs. No offence Crazy Arab
  18. Might get some for the missus Vectra.

    My First Spinout!

My first was in a Toyota Corolla, country road fast right hander over blind intersection crest, FWD snap over steer, 140kph backwards then forwards and on my merry way all in one movement without stopping still don’t know how I did it, I would have looked like a stunt driver.. My missus at the time puked all over the dash though. Must say I have ended up sideways a lot since.

    My First Spinout!

Lol, you’d need a bit more power to keep a drift going! Did the same in mine when I did my sway bar bushes and new shocks.. went for a run with no back seats, trim or boom box and stepped it out big time at 80kph.. wouldn’t be hard on yourself, can happen to anyone at any experience level.
  21. Good stuff, 325i intake a remap and few more goodies is it?? You’ll have to take us for a blat after next moths meet I wouldn’t generally associate burnouts with illegal drag racing, a lot of people just do a static/doughnut for a bit of amusement and a laugh in most cases they park it up without a care who’s fastest or who had the biggest cock.
  22. Well, Im a petrol head and love burnouts and god forgive me for endangering small children and old ladies but I do the odd skid on a road myself, don’t see it as dangerous if you do it in a quiet industrial street. We pay enough to the government to fix our roads so I look it as a tax rebate I can think of worse offenses that actually kill people that im sure you’d be guilty of
  23. Friday after work drinks burnouts, funny how alcohol can make you feel invisible..Good luck.
