One Man's Crusade Against The Personalised Plates Monopoly
Apex replied to bravo's topic in General Discussion
Just a price drop on having a plate manufactured is what we need, the cost of buying the “personalised plate†in NZ is cheap in comparison to other countries and states abroad. The missus got a warning the other day.. Cops reasoning was that criminals could have any plate they like produced and fit it to any car, makes sense. We carry around the original plate in the boot anyhow. -
Lots of the S/A Assembled cars do. Got a one for $70, cleaned up with shoe nugget and made a new badge out of sign writing vinyl. Just like new.
-
Looks good David. Welcome to Bimmersport.
-
The wheels, stance and clean body work are horn and after seeing it I can look past the jewellery lights and Mc Donald’s badges
-
Careful, you may start liking them (e30's) and end up with one.. we all will eventually Welcome to Bimmersport, nice M3.
-
Looking good Brian (the car not you ).. This car is one of the smoothest looking E36’s around, pictures don’t do it justice. 10 points to your car groomer for keeping nice and shiny!
-
Manual for manual I would still take the 2.0 over a 1.8, the 2.0 is 100% smoother, pulls better at higher speed and sounds a lot better. Comes down to what you want, I believe a NZ 320i will be slightly better specked all round also.

Ultimate but silly expensive.. Could only justify on an equally silly expensive M3. I too like the SE.. if mine still had leather on it I would take it over my tidy tech-I. This poll could read E30/34.

They are a very sexy wheel and IMO are the best wheel for a F/L E30. Aftermarket are around the $300 mark and often a too small for a E30 meaning they impair the view of the speedo and make it lumbersome to steer with the E30’s steering ratio not to mention looking out of place on an older car. Not much better looking… maybe it’s in the eye of the beholder but I think the Tech-II looks a lot better than the Tech-I, SE and stock wheel.

Scratch-X is good stuff, problem is It will clean up the area you are working on so well you will have to do the whole car.. Mightn’t need a respray! I park faw away also, my missus jokes that we should just take the bus as it pulls up a lot closer.
-
So it does.. sorry im a dipshit What does a stock 2.5 put out then? Nice looking car anyhow.
-
And amputees. Manual all the way, would be half the car with an Auto.
-
Shot. That Dyno figure is a little less than I would have thought, is high velocities Dyno a Dyno Dynamics type?? They read quite low from what I have experienced.

Good sh*t, same time as me.. only took Lance one day though The Difference in mid range is huge, the 2.0l really is pointless, drinks the same amount of gas but doesn’t go anywhere. And do a skid x2.
-
Haha, na didn’t find any tools Lance! That Photo brings out the cars inner gangster.. New Sig me thinks. Cheers once again for all your work.

**Cough cough** Black wheels **Cough cough** I saw a Red E36 M3 in Performance BMW magazine a few months back with similar wheels painted black and it looked horn! Will dig it out and scan it.

A BIG thanks to Lance (mellow puff) the old girl now sports a 2.5, goes a hell of a lot better, nothing mind boggling but defiantly a lot more fun. Top job mate the engine is a jem, no leaks or diesel noises like my old 2.0. Its nearly been a year so I just added up what I have done. Thus far. 4/12/08 Suspension: Front Shocks: KYB GAS (will be replaced with some BOGE Turbo’s as they are crap) Rear Shocks: BOGE Turbo’s and new Z3 reinforced Top hats. Front Springs: E30 325i 30mm lowering springs by VOGTLAND Rear Springs: E36 six cylinder 30mm lowering springs (E36 to compensate for Touring added weight) Toyo Proxies T1R 205/55/15’s (x4) Few Bushes here and there Bling: M-tech 1 steering wheel Momo Super ergonomic gear knob Window tint Awesome Repco Remus tips Simota Carbon Charger intake Euro Plate Boom: Pioneer Head deck (MP3, I-Pod, Bluetooth) Pioneer Kevlar components (front) Pioneer Kevlar 4†vocals (rear) Pioneer 750w four channel amp Pioneer 700w mono block amp Kicker L7 10 woofer in easy to remove custom box Ex E34 2.5Ltr and associated parts. Stainless Extractors Stainless exhaust system Cyclops mean ars F*** off alarm. I don’t wish to add up the total as this car is supposed to be a sensible work wagon and all of the above is simply maintenance. In the next year I would like to obtain a performance cam and have a MAP-ECU fitted and will most likely need a LSD for better traction and burnouts. Would also like to get a few things done on the body, a Mtec-II front bumper upper for one. Cheers for having a nosy.

Yep, I just used it to find an address for someone as I couldn’t remember the street or number and the address isn’t listed. Just typed in Khyber Pass and had a look around. Can even send a link to someone. Link to address: http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&hl=e...983387,,0,5> Handy Andy.

As do I, I have subscribed for years and find there info is up to date and quite informative. The offshore mags are ok but lack NZ relevant contend.

Nice wheels once again. The Chrome will look good better against the black. To me an M3 vert is like turning a running shoe into a jandel
