  1. I really don’t like the fact people can post up details obtained through a number plate, would piss me off too. There are a few on here that CARFAX everything they see, takes the romance out of things and is ultimately just nosey/stalkerish. I am however really gratefully a picture was taken and pasted up here, gives me something to work harder for… This car really is an amazing M3, absolutely beautiful, best road E30 M3 I have ever seen. Wonder what he wants for it.
  2. Lowering?? Comes down to budget and how well you want the car to ride and handle. I would go H&R Springs minimum, they really are a far superior product and you will regret saving that $100 on a king spring down the track. Wheels are a personal thing, I can’t see them suiting the Classic E30.
  3. True, the 320i touring would leave a lot to live up to You could be right, went to rainbows end the other week and it was considerably shitier than I had remembered it to be as a 10 year old.
  4. 25k…. I’ll have my wagon with E36 M3 Evo running gear, a 540im F/L, a E46 330i-M Touring Manual, a 2002 Turbo and a E30 M3.
  5. Must be Brian, surely there cant be that many around. Lust, it is the nicest M3 road car I have ever seen.. Was immaculate inside and under the hood also.
  6. My dream car, sore this for sale like 7 years ago, was $67,000 at the time
  7. +1 I have given up on finding one second hand and I can’t afford a new one from BMW. -BRS- yours looks to fit nicer at the front than most OEM I have seen, mine has a 1cm gap between the upper and lower that is quite hard to eliminate, thinking its because I don’t have the M-Tec upper??
  8. Wow, cool story!! Nice looking car you scored there, bet your glad her family didn’t try and claim it, have seen it happen before. Wish mine had sub 100,000km Welcome to Bimmersport.
  9. There was a 540i with those rims on Trade-Me last week for 7k, could buy it if its relisted and re sell the car for the same price.. Free wheels.
  10. Where did d you get it?? I would be keen on the front bumper upper.. Could buy whole kit and sell all parts bar top bar if have no success. Cheers.

    WANTED

Wanted for a TV add, Bling looking BMW for cheap, like a E39 or E38.. must look tidy but can be mechanically dodgy. Think piece of sh*t on the V-Plus advertisement.. OH auntie thanks for letting me drive your car. Please let me know.
  14. Interesting article on cars in 1987, puts the price of a 325i into perspective. http://www.wintec.ac.nz/index.asp?PageID=2145827947
  15. Imports were sold in Japanese yen and would have cost considerably less I think the E30 Convertible would have been the quintessential Yuppie mobile in the late 80’s!, very nice cars. Wonder what a M3 would have cost had they sold them new? About the same I suspect.

    MY CAR MY GIRL

You missed a spot.. 10 Points.
  19. True that, had you been in a Corona of the same year you may not have made it They haven’t tested the E36 under modern test procedures and the 4 star it scored would be in a different test. Im not saying they are unsafe, im mealy pointing out that the Euro’s are the same as the Japs these days and that a modern Suzuki swift would be much safer than a E36 in a similar crash situation.
  20. The E36 would score a very low crash rating buy modern standards, the cop was ignorant, had you been in a modern Japanese car you would have most likely walked away.

Not sure about longevity and don’t really care, that the next owners problem, we did 40,000 trouble free kms and serviced it at regular intervals so no extra maintenance, I liked to warm it up and cool it down but I do that most cars I have owned. Drivability wasn’t compromised at all, if anything it improved, I could pull from 80-120 kph in 6th gear in under 5 seconds, stock it would have taken near 8. Im sure a bloke of your knowledge would have no problem comprehending how they work.

Why not, I wasn’t trying to promote Superchips over anyone else, was just saying what I found with the product. BTW, When I called Gavin his pricing was horrendous in comparison, maybe he does deals for certain customers. How much power does he claim to coax out of the 330i and how much does it cost??

More power = more fuel when you using the power.. If the car is producing 40% more torque at 2,500rpm you don’t have to rev the car higher as the engine just isn’t struggling and you can often stay in a taller gear thus saving gas. One drive a modern car with a small efficient turbo will know exactly what I mean. Average consumption didn’t increase in our Astra, it did obviously increase when driving shall we was enthusiastically

Here's the claimed power a torque incrases Bravo, We did a dyno day with a whole bunch of Superchiped cars and found there "claims" to be very accurate, modest in some cases. As long as you look after your car with quality oil and regular servicing and run the correct premium fuel, let the car warm up and cool down after a spirited drive you wont have any problems, the restrictors are put into the ECU to compensate for abuse and neglect, you’ll also find the stock tunes are designed to be smooth and non offensive, my tuned torque curve would have scared the hell out of most upon first drive. http://www.superchips.co.nz/models.php

I’ll add my Astra had two Dyno runs that found the map was solid and safe, I thrashed the hell out of it for two years and had no problem with it.
