Yep, no ECU problems.. Would personally just buy a V8 power BMW to start with though. This thing would get more street cred than a factory V8 5 series and would most likely be slower and uneconomical.

True, it comes off and looks like mine at the back, failing that you could just buy the Euro version to replace it. I would be more chessed off that I couldn’t use a few of the cars systems because they are in Jap spec and that the car wouldn’t have a service history. You must remember these engines are highly tuned, there’s bound to be a bit of ruff noise in a car producing 500bhp! Id happily giveaway the smooth idle sound of the 4.4ltr for a 500BHP 5.0!!

Im not entirely sure about that one Glenn, as far as I know LHD Euro’s in Japan are actually Euro spec and are normally rear models the dealer couldn’t supply. LHD is also a sign of status in Japan

Dodgy Surely you couldn’t simple send a dealer your vin number to have a key made?? It would have to be coded with the vehicle before it could start it surely?? Not very reassuring if anyone could order a key with a vin number. Um you can reach threw from the Ski port, the plastic insert just pops out, im sure they all have this regardless of split/fold seat option. But if they were near the back of you boot you may have trouble reaching them, I just tried.

I found it interesting that increasing the displacement to 2.5ltrs reduced torque, traditionally increasing displacement is done to increase torque, power wise there isn’t a huge difference on the road cars. Maybe the 2.5 was built for homologation reasons and the benefits were mainly found in race form.. just assuming once again. Im good at that.

The one that this tread is in vain of, I have now however realised that the amazingly immaculate red M3 I have been dreaming about for the last 10 years or so was an Evo II and not a Sport Evo so it technically is inferior. I still hold fond memories of that car and to me Black is not a strong colour for the E30. Personal preference. I hope you understand. We cool?

Have you got the rest of that brochure?? Would kill to see it, love old brochures. Wow, 11.5 to 100, I thought mine was fast but didn’t realise it was that quick!! Seems they are all heavy and slow but somehow are still nice to drive.

Nice one, that must sound amazing!! Any change in throttle response and is it affected by the dreaded heat soak at all? Was looking at the afe intake for the 545i a few weeks back, I unfortunately don’t have a credit card so I couldn’t purchase it online. Don’t suppose you got it local? RE the Quafe, I have seen a video of the 335i with one fitted and it looked like a lot of fun!! Would love one myself but am struggling to build up the courage to spend the 2k, would transform the car though and would be the #1 mod for me.

Seat realise mechanism (if split is even optioned) is done via handles in the boot. There is a small ski port however. sh*t situation you’re in there mate, I have nothing to offer in terms f advise other than don’t do it again! Why do most Japanese used imports only come with one key?

They should just make all M models hard core CSL spec, after all M is supposed to stand for Motorsport.. You don’t need SAT-NZ and seat heaters on a track. As for MX5 and MX6, what the fork!! I hope BMW doesn’t loose every bit of dignity and turn into a American car company.

Sounds good, if they are as good as there diesels they will fly! A low cost (say sub 60k) 180kw 125i would be awesome.

I would like to know how many E30 Tourings sold NZ new?? I have never seen a NZ new 325i. The nice chap at Team McMillan said they only brought in a handful.
