  1. It puts out good usable power and torque that can be accessed from anywhere in the rev range, the engine is fantastic but the overall power is not that impressive, it is an efficiency engine before it is a performance engine. The Toyota 3.0Ltr Twin Turbo 2JZ-GTE had more power 15 years ago and just look at what they can be tweaked too, far beyond the BMW engine.
  2. Has it got nav?? The nice lady will tell you how long it will take.. select shortest rout and discover some interesting B roads.

Ah, it’s an import. You should get some USA plates made for it, they will fit in the Japanese holders. Just to be different.

    New Car

Is it an import?? Jochen fixed mine when I had no sound and the problem was the Radio tuner, he simply installed a new (second hand) one and hey presto. You will have three or so units, the radio receiver unit sits on the back of the seat…well it did in my old E39. Well done BTW, Silver is the best BMW colour
  5. Well done, that’s firkin nice. NZ new too! 10 points! Xenon’s? That’s gunna be one hell of a drive

With her, I wish..Drool! Nice add I thought.
  9. Good on you for bringing it up, im sure a few people on here would be keen to find out how you get on. I wonder if parts are as cheap as the cars in Japan.
  10. Ah, I get ya.. well kind of. I have a 1.3 Corolla as a daily, the rest of the time I just drive around looking down my nose at people

  12. Same here, the current E90 tail lights are very boring compared to nearly every other car in its class and even some in lesser classes. Wouldn’t have meant much years ago but today lights really do make a huge difference.
  13. Not really. It would be that guy at school you hated because he was really good at everything. It certainly doesn’t have anywhere near the character of the E30. Character can’t make up for practicality and convenience though, it’s like an old house, whilst it may have personality it just can’t compare to a modern house in function, practicality and comfort. Driver’s car would most certainly go to the E30 M3.
  14. Character is one thing E30’s have lots of… wouldn’t have one over my E60 though, no matter how charismatic The E39 was a miss for me also, what seats do you have Penry? The pews in my old one were fantastic.

    Bye Bye E30

Just need to lower the front now.. Did you end up selling your engine?
  16. let us know how you get on with BMW Japan. How would you even contact them, one would think the warranty would be void. Just think you saved 20k by purchasing a import. I was thinking the other day how scary it would be to own a E60 M5 now they are out of warranty after Glenn mentioned a clutch Pac alone is $6k!
  17. The ultimate driving machine. Nothing drives like a BMW. I also love the over engineering and build quality on the 80’s cars, they are tanks.
  18. I like it, looks as if they have just added a few lines and some new lights. Would have a 335i Touring.

I was trying to be diplomatic guys. Flip side on the argument you can’t drive these cars fast so in a way they are being responsible driving at a snail’s pace. My office looks out to a speed bump and I really enjoy watching these young guys negotiating there way over the bumps, its hilarious watching them tippy toe over as if their Makita lowered $3000 SLAB is a Ferrari/Racing car and will be damaged and are completely oblivious to the fact the only people that respect them are there virgin mates.. Ah memories.

His had springs but they were aesthetic more than anything, not fully functional like yours must be I don’t mean to sound like an old fella as a few short years ago I was rolling around just as low (although certified) and know how no suspension travel effects breaking distance and screws with ABS not to mention bump steer. This forum promotes safe modifications and we would hate to see you kill your mates. Looks cool just take it easy and watch your following distance.

That is dam low, like BTCC low! I have only ever seen one other E36 that low and he had no springs or bump stops and a bag of cement, two 15†subs and some huge amps in the boot, was a 318i too so it was really fast. He ended up writing it off under a truck as his brakes didn’t work well due to no suspension travel and 19†wheels (massive in 2002). Good luck. www.stillphotography.co.uk
  22. I think we need to poo poo cars like this in an effort to educate, if we didn’t people might do the same horrible things to their cars thinking they are impressing people. After all that is what this car is about, showing off. It’s a public service. Chrome is so 2001.
  23. Sorry mate I wouldn’t have a clue. I would think it would be the same as a normal 320i.
