  1. Just don’t have the time to sell it at the moment… Should have thought about that before listing it, sorry guys. I need to remove the sound system and convert it back to standard and also need to get the oil leaks fixed.. It just comes down to time.
  2. Ah K. I would go with the Simota as you can use them on nearly all straight 6 BMW’s so when the time comes to upgrade you could take it off. I just thought it funny an aspiring racing driver is driving a automatic 328i
  3. If it’s like the G-tec quarter mile times will be far from accurate.. Mate had one in his Altezza and it told him he was doing 14.9’s,went to Meremere wand could only ‘pull off’ high 15’s. Worth a laugh for 17 bucks though.
  4. Meh same old excuse from people as to why they drive slush box.. My missus drives a manual in rush hour traffic everyday and she doesn’t complain!! Are you going racing in your car? All the mods you mention soon add up to the price difference between the two.. 328i v 330i.
  5. Try contacting pioneer auto parts for a price on the K&N they are the importers. I would personally go for the Simota as I have had one before and it was great. Broomefish are the NZ wholesalers. As for headers I wouldn’t worry about doing them as it will be pricy for minimal gains and may affect the way your car performs. I would defiantly go for a chip though, probably the best bang for your buck. Is your car a manual? This would be the single best thing you could do if your after performance. Failing that you could just Trade up to a 330i, it would be quicker than a modded 328i.
  6. It’s only a boot just take it back to BMW and ask for a new one!!
  7. Plus it’s RWD!! The Golf R32 is a FWD with rear wheel traction control. The Golf GTI is the must have car of the moment though and is a sensational drive. Your car is as good as brand new Tim and for the price you paid you couldn’t have done better.
  8. I like the LED taillights and new headlights. I admire the way BMW don’t dramatically facelift vehicles to sell more cars like other car manufacturers do, it holds back depreciation (well in other markets that don’t have crapanese imports) and doesn’t leave the buyer of a an original model feeling like they have been shafted. A friend of mine purchased a HSV 6.0ltr Clubsport R8 a few months back only to find out a month later HSV had realised a 6.3ltr version.
  9. Biggest thing to consider is your budget?? You are after a desirably specked car so expect to pay well over 25k for it. Personally I would go for a NZ new 530i Motorsport and install a custom entertainment system that way I would have a unit that can control IPod’s, has Bluetooth and can play DVD’s and will have far far superior sound. TV isn’t that great BTW, it only works when stationary and doesn’t have a good picture.
  10. They look to have the wrong offset, the wheels are way out of the guards.
  11. Hi Tim, good to see a 1 series around here, way too many E36’s!
  12. Nice one Glenn. Little Johnny sees his mother walk out of the shower and sees her vagina. He asks her what it is and she embarassed replies, "Oh, that's mommy's black sponge." A few days later, Johnny spills a glass of milk on the floor and says, "Mommy, I need your black sponge to mop up the milk!" She replies, "I lost it, honey." A couple of days later, he comes running up to her and says, "Mommy, I found your black sponge!" Mystified, she says, "Where, honey?" Little Johnny says, "It's over at Mrs. Johnson's house, and Daddy's washing his face in it!"
  13. Kind of makes sense, the ISF is a slush box that weighs more than the M3, the Mercedes doesn’t have an LSD and cant handle and the 350GT is well a level below the rest. I just hope they bring out a M3 Touring, how cool would that be! Imagine if Nissan brought out a sports salon based on the new GTR.

    E30 vs. E36

Hey, watch it. It was an Opel with Holden badges and was bloody quick, would tear strips from the olds 330i.. biggest problem was lack of feel.
  15. Most important thing to do is to get as much of the dirt of the car as possible before washing, I use a water blaster then a large clean bucket with the Lambs wool wash mitt, and never let the car get too dirty because it’s the dirt that causes all the swirl marks. Another product that will come in handy after a few months will be Meguiars Scratch X, this stuff is great for getting marks off from around the door handles and of the side skirts and bumpers. After a year a clay bar, polish and wax will be the go, this is a picture of my last car after 2 years of proper maintenance, and it actually looked better than the brand new one in the Holden show room. Cool car BTW! The carbon roof has a clear coat so keep that nice and waxed also!

    E30 vs. E36

It’s not about what’s better it’s about personal preference, as stated I started a poll as a rebuttal against Crockets comments. I brought an E30 to be different and to stand out from the crowd of other wagons on the road only to find the E30 is a sensational drive, even with bugger all power! I preferred driving my 89 Touring over my 06 Astra which had double the power and an feature list better than a top of the line E46!
  17. Good sh*t, I just rate those as must haves to keep your car looking nice with minimal effort. That Ultimate Detailer is awesome and a black car owners best friend!
  18. Im not going to buy it, im just seeing it! The guy is looking at my Touring.

    E30 vs. E36

Having owned and lived with both the E60 is much much better.
  20. Im seeing that car tomorrow. Will give a report.
  21. I don’t know where to start, black is a fun colour to keep black! Buy yourself a genuine wool wash mitt and a new bucket and use them for the body only, small dirt partials are what ruin black. Wax it every 6 washes and maintain/protect the shine with a quick detailer and make sure you use a high suds gentle car shampoo when washing. Here are a few must have products I have found to be invaluable. Gold Class wax; Best wax I have used. Water Magnet Microfibre Drying Towel; much better than a leather chamois and only requires one wring per dry Versa-Angle Wheel Face Brush; these brushes make light work of keeping your mags clean, go for short handle. Meguiars Ultimate Quick detailer. You only need to gently mist this on (you only need the smallest amount) and wipe off with a Microfibre towel. Hot shine Tire coating; Lasts for ever and doesn’t brown tires, plus it smells good. You will need some applicator pads for applying the wax and some Microfibre cloths for wiping the wax and detailer off. If you get stuck finding what you need at Supercheap/Repco or would like to purchase a bulk lot or anything from the professional range let me know and I’ll help you out, I have a wholesale account. http://www.meguiars.co.nz/

    E30 vs. E36

Why would it?? I wouldn’t say the E36 was boring, I for one really like its lines, they are very clean and un fussed. The E36 was heralded as the best car in its class and the M3 version was ground breaking and highly regarded, it’s not like we are comparing the E30 to rubbish. I started it more in response to Crockett saying most people drive E30’s because they can’t afford E36’s (even though they are similar priced) and would “upgrade†given the chance. Thought it was funny and judging by the poll it is.
