You started the tread Read about the X6 in the latest autocar and they put it up against the Range Rover Sport. Would rather the Sport as it can do this.

I wouldn’t even take a E46 320i over my E30. E30 has character, is built better, is more reliable has a style of its own and is admired by many. The E30 M3, M325i and touring variants are also worth more than their E36 equivalents.

Thanks to crocket.. can of worms open. E30 vs. E36 What makes one better than the other? Would you upgrade to an E36 (same grade) given the opportunity. I personally wouldn’t have an E36 (or E46) but only because I like the character the E30 has.

On second glance it looks as if it has already been lowered a little bit. If you do decide to lower it go with H&R, it may cost a couple of hundred more but is well worth it if you want a stiffer ride.

What colour is your car?? Im assuming it’s a brand new car, so what brand is it? Only reason I ask as cheaper brands use crap paint which deteriorates quicker. If you are not into car maintenance and will not be grooming/washing your car regularly it might be worth looking at.. I would only think it would last a year though. I think most people that rave about it are suffering from a placebo effect, my old man opted for it once and raved about it even though to me it looked like sh*t. I would personally take the $1000 into Repco and purchase a heap of Meguiars/Mothers products and keep the car well maintained and protected myself, a good clay bar and polish followed by a nice coat of wax will get it looking good and followed by wash every fortnight and a good wax every second month it will stay that way for a year.

Nice wagon, so envious of the factory 2.5 engine, im guessing it’s an import then? Upgrading the stock system is hard without making new holes. Im running 51/4 inch components in the front and Ceflar 4†2 ways in the back witch are both amped and with the sub box removed they really struggle to produce any decent bass. If you’re up in Auckland at some stage im more than happy to show you my system and give you some tips as to where to mount an amp. I would recommend a boxed set of 6x9’s if your after a decent sound without an amp or a sub. As for lowering, talk to Keith at suspension progress (our forum sponsor) he sorted mine out, you need to run a wagon specific set up.

I would recommend paying extra for a good job. There used to be a place called Tint Magic and they were well magic, did a fantastic job on a couple of cars I have seen. Tinta-Car in Manukau have done the best work I have seen. I won’t name and shame but I strongly recommend you don’t go to the tint place across the road from Mag&Turbo in Manukau. They did a car of mine and I had to have it redone twice… then it failed a WOF for being to dark. Cost me (well my Fiancé) $400 for what was meant to the darkest legal certified Tint… Ended up with the darkest illegal tinter instead

I hear Bosch are doing the same tests, they just got there mates to drive past and there mates said it looked mean and didn’t effect anything… there mates recond the blue looked f**king bad and f Baseball bat to the headlight will fix it.

Because they bling and dazzle other road users, potentially causing a accident not to mention temporary blindness. They are illegal for a reason.

Are you guys fitted high intensity discharge “bulbs†to your factory light clusters?? If so this is illegal and highly f**king annoying and dangerous. In Ausi Cops are impounding cars for this. There is a reason these lights are a $3000+ option on cars, its more than just a bulb, it’s a whole light unit that needs self leveling and cleaning devices.

I would think so, you can get a warranty on anything it’s like insurance. But you would struggle to get anything out of them, a warranty doest cover maintenance or service costs nor does it cover normal wear items.

True, hence why the missus and I were turned off the E46 M3, we looked at the service history on one and one of the bills was close to $5,000 which was for seals and a few other bits and bobs.. Which is also why some M cars drive and perform very poorly as owners often overlook (can’t afford to fix) things. I’d take a Red one.
