Not sure if anyone is interested. 89 320i Touring. 5-speed, tech II… spent a couple of thousand since purchasing it last December.. Pictures and more info: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=13837 Selling as I have inherited another vehicle that has great sentimental value and cant store both in my garage (already have three other cars in there) and I seldom drive it. 021-46-00-15 Graham http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=166995816

I would very much doubt they are genuine BMW wheels. The Auctioneer states that the wheels are new, if that were the case someone must have spent over half the cars value on them! So many fake wheels rolling around out there, I had question on some M6 wheels not so long ago asking if they were genuine BMW M6 wheels and the guy said yes, I questioned him as I know they are over 10 grand a set and he was selling for around 2k. I went out to find what were a set of imitation wheels.. I don’t mind knock off’s as long as they are being sold as that.

I have often wondered what the differences are also. After driving the 545i and 545i-M I wouldn’t have even considered a non M, they drive very differently. Somehow BMW have managed to make the M steer and handle better without sacrificing ride quality. The bumpers, side skirts, seats, steering wheel, sill plates chrome deletion and wheels are nice also. One thing M should add. An LSD!!

Interesting. It wouldn’t cost you anymore in gas and would save your breaks if you were coasting, makes sense doesn’t it??

The reason so many are auto is demographic, the people that purchase them new are over the hill and can’t be arsed swapping cogs manually and will most likely never out drive the auto. Also its supply, nearly all Japanese imports are auto and nearly all the ones for sale are Japanese. If you’re not into driving and use the car mainly for commuting the slush box is fine. I would strongly sagest driving both before purchasing though. Interesting. Silver is much easier to keep clean looking… I had to set up a wholesale account at Meguiars with my last black car!!

Given the choice of either would what would you honestly take? manual or Auto?
-
Mine is fine for everyday use but you can’t drive them hard, they just don’t work. Depends on how hard you drive I sapose. What you will pay extra you’ll get back when you sell it. Look at the price difference between a E36 328i Manual and a slush box.
-
Manual is would make the car 100% better IMHO , Steptronic is retarded, My car has the up down shift thing and would get annihilated threw a tight section of road by a much lesser manual car because of it. If you enjoy driving a manual is the better choice, not to mention future resale.

Didn’t say it was drifting, this is Rally. This is drifting for hard men with trees, spectators and buildings to avoid!! Imagine these guys in a set up drift car with more room to lay with!!

A NZ new model will have both. Not sure if the imports are unreliable or not im just going off how reliable mums is and how unreliable a couple of imports myself and friends have had, it all comes down to service history I suppose and that can be hard to find when a car has come from another country. I do believe that in the long run the premium paid for a NZ new with FSH will pay off.
-
Or just stick the original on to get a WOF.. it’s hardly a big job swapping them over!!
-
Oh, with a budget of 30k you should find yourself a nice NZ new Manual. I would say get a manual, it would be a completely different car. My old lady has a NZ new one and it hasn’t cost here a dime in nearly 8 years bar a set of tires and basic maintenance, highly recommend NZ new. Im sure you know what its like to end up with a lemon

Hey bro, welcome to Bimmersport. 20-45k.. A high km Auto Crapanese import could be had for under 20.

These guy’s make the modern drifters look soft..
-
Oh well, worth a try.. Maybe you could get your modified then?? Do you need a horn to race?
-
Not really, All Peugeot’s within the same generation look the same, as do most European brands, I think they do it so that they can build brand recognition, if they chopped and changed too much no one would know what’s what, like a lot of Japanese cars. As you know, the other car is a Toyota anyway.. And you can’t expect to join a BMW car forum to try and sell a Nissan and expect people not scrutinise. Maybe originality is in the eye of the beholder. What some may see as original and cool other will see as stupid. Just put a locker in the E30 and drive the hell out of it, AE85's can do it with the same power... I don’t think this Laurell would be much a drifter, more a cruiser.

I have this.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=165111102 $100 and its all yours Im happy to let you try it out.

I spilt hot coffee all over myself whilst trying to drive the 320 last week, was very unhappy. Im waiting on the new Bluetooth cup holder.

Compressed springs are poo, sorry but you need proper lowering springs.. I’d run cut springs before compressed. Get some Vogtlands springs from Keith at suspension progress our forum sponsor, will still sit low but will drive a lot better.

Too much carbon… Could look ok though!! That car has been for sale for over a year.
-
I like yours mate, the use of the M colours is fancy… I would like one.
-
I like mine better than yours Cam…Flux’s is terrible, way too much.. Less is more.

A few weeks ago someone asked the question ‘how do I make my 320i sound like a Touring car’.. well I suggested a S2000 engine.. Check this out! I love the rev counter, t goes all the way past the vacuum gauge!

I like it. If you were paining the car how much more would it have cost to paint the handles?? The guy in picture seven is the reason why you wouldn’t buy it, I have people like that hanging around my wagon, maybe the photo was taken in Papakura.. Like ducks to bread they are..
