They are becoming quite common as standard fitment so yes there are more and more out there. Just because a retro fitted car passes a WOF doesn’t make it legal, I have seen cars pass WOF’s with cut springs and illegal tints, doesn’t make it legal. IMO anyone who retrofits them to a non compliant enclosure is a selfish wanker. My main reason for hating them is due to my missus being blinded and nearly run off the road one morning on our way through Maraetai. I suppose as long as they look cool though eh. I converted my old IS200 to HID using IS300 enclosures and washers and it set me back over 2k using second hand parts so I would hate to think what it is worth in new parts! I can recommend Philips Cristal vision bulbs as a safe substitute.

If so im guessing numbers are down as people on forums are generally socially challenged in the “real world†and are probably somewhat intimidated. But then you would have to update the rest of the car to match, IMO the wheels wouldn’t suite the facelift M look. My E39 was the same height as yours and I didn’t scrape the lip to bad, it actually sits bugger all lower, it’s more a cover extension than anything.

Fantastic looking E46 you have their mate, love the white. The stock rims look good to me and anything less than BBS wheels would cheapen the look imo. It become almost original to leave a BMW as it came from the factory, so many aftermarket special editions rolling around. Maybe a Simota carbon intake is needed to get some induction roar going? The standard intake is well muffled so fitting one of these really opens things up.

Im just guessing they have lots of different drivers hence the disguise.

That looks sh*t hot mate, nice stance, wheels and colour. Would look cool with a German plate and a Snitttzzzzer (s) front and M boot lip, you could get it matched when you paint your boot.

Mate of mine from Papakura had the first of this kind of “show†E36 beemer about 8 years ago, he imported the wheels and lights. I always thought he was mad doing it to a $40,000+ at the time car but low and behold he was a trend setter. Shore kids do it years later and Fail.

Im getting my factory wheels striped and re coated in the next couple of weeks and im wanting some cheap wheels to put on the car while the wheels are away and to have as a spare set. Does anyone know if any older model (E39 or E34 or 7 series) wheels will fit my E60? Only problem I can see as that they may need to be 17†or bigger as the stock front breaks are huge. Thanks.

True, it did ok considering the cost. But 20-25k!! Where are they for that price? I think they are going to be bringing out a 3.7ltr version in the next year with a bit more grunt though. It’s a very technical tight circuit that’s for sure, love that track in Granturismo as you can really slay some big cars in light weights! I downloaded a episode on GT-TV (Granturismo) yesterday and it had the 911-Turbo vs 991 GT3 vs Gallardo Superleggera vs NSX Type-R vs GTR battle and that was cool, also had the Civic Type-R vs S2000 battles.. cool show. The GT-TV is an awesome feature in the new GT game! Highly recommended, you can download episodes of Best Motoring, Top Gear, Option Video, Japanese touring car coverage and quite a few making of documentaries. Its mostly Jap stuff but very cool none the less, I have mega appreciation for the new GTR after watching the development that went into it and how easy it laps the Nurburgring.

Very cool, I wonder what they were worth “new†in the 90’s. Had a play with a 993 Carrera S threw some windy roads a few weeks back, turn in and cornering speed was amazing. Some people have to much money because all they do is work, im guessing this guy is one of them.

Wax protects the paint and would stay on the car for ages so it would be a good thing if he lives on a dirt road! It doesn’t just wash off! Bar the stupidly expensive wax I don’t see this clean as weird, I do the same with my cars when I get them.

Haha see insurance fraud thread!!! I must say Evans do a fantastic job, my mum’s E46 was reversed into a couple of years ago and they fixed it up so well you would could never tell.. They say the sign of a good job is no sign at all. I can ask for you next week as im getting the 545i’s bonnet and bumpers re-sprayed. It really depends on how bad the car is and how much prep work you can do yourself. How good a job do you want?? Factory finish?? What colour are you after? I fully prepped my last car, IE removed all seals trims lights bla bla bla and it come in at under 2 grand. How about House of Colour Chocolate Brown??
