  1. They should record a M20 and pump that noise though, would be so much win! #E30FANBOI I think with the Air intake opened up and the mufflers removed it will sound great, if that's what you are after. I for one like the nice and quite modern Turbo engine, don't know if its because I am getting older but I would rather drive hard under the radar and not annoy anyone or raise suspicion. You can accelerate from 80-120 in sixth gear with no noise at the same speed a highly strung N/A engine does in 4th at 6000rpm looking like a douche bag annoying everyone.
  2. How long before these are put into the too expensive to own and fix basket and we see them selling for less than the more desirable IMHO E39 M5's?? Do not want.
  3. Choice. Nice work Josh and Conrad! Beautifully presented car.
  4. Fitted new pipes? Crazy German bastards..
  5. Nice write up, they really do defy the laws of physics as we think we know them. I would love a drive of the New M5 with that same engine. One day.
  6. Are they OEM wheels? wet and dry cleans all.
  7. What did you have for dinner?
  8. Wow that's a sharp deal. Good luck with the sale.
  9. Keener to have a run at Pukekohe TBH Jack, its more like a Kiwi road that I will be racing on, well three times as wide but it has bumps etc! let me know if you hear of a test day.
  10. Semi slicks for one day? Just run it as it is, if its your first time on a track and more so first time on Hampton downs you will not out drive your tyres, you may out drive your brakes though so take it easy on them and you will be golden. Week before Targa for me so may be keen to rock down for a last min shake down! Last year's pre-rally shake down session uncovered some bad cracks in my disks so well worth it.
  11. Did you notice the 190e was running the cheapest Ling Long Chinese rubbish tyres you can buy?? Made me laugh, I wouldn't even fit those on my wheel barrow let alone a performance car. Was in good nick though, like most of the cars there it probably sits in the garage most days of the year. Was trying to get a pic of the Escort Cosworth, such cool cars! Will be throwing my car on show next year, will have to paint the sills as they look as freckly as a ginger on a hot day, was gutted I missed out as its free to enter when your invited by a club.
  12. Can pick up whenever. The car park behind the shops in Manurewa suits me better though, I will be by the dumpster behind the Lucky Sun Bakery. Flash you lights three times to confirm the deal.
  13. With no center caps they would be worth $200 cash.
  14. 400GT http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/at-the-garag...2-2/index.shtml
  15. Ha I only took a few photo's, its hard when there are so many people up close, there were 1000's of beautiful cars there, I missed a good half of the show. The Miura was very very cool, French Racing Blue and totally original, the interior was very nice, loved the classic 400GT too, cruising a countryside in one of those would be nice., have never seen either of these cars before. The M3 is a regular at car shows and a member around here, one of two in NZ apparently and in very nice condition.
  16. Different kettle of fish and two very different applications, would not run a tyre like the Pilot Preceda 3 on my car, would be like giving a track star a pair or crocks.. Would be a good tyre for the OP though!
  17. Took a few very amateur photo's of cars I want in my dream garage. I think the Corvette Z06 or Aston DBS would do me for a quick blat, the classic Lambo's were beautiful also. Would be nice to have a spin in both the Lancia Delta EVO and BMW M3 EVO in the name of science.
  18. The Pilot Sport III? The buggers don't have any in my size and the price I was quoted was not far off the Continentals. I wanted the PS2's but they had sold out of those too, I know they are very good all rounder and good for 20-25k. European tyres are very good but at NZ prices very hard to justify, if I look at the cost the OEM continentals within three years I would have spent more on tyres than the car will be worth! I am very happy with the Toyo's and to be honest it was a bang for your buck situation, when looking at international tyre tests the Good Year and Toyo score within 5% of the performance points compared to the top dog Continental but cost 120% less. You can feel the Continentals have a stiffer side wall and softer compound, this is great on a race car and no doubt why they win all thee tests but one thing tests don't take into account is how long they will last, especially on NZ's cave man roads.
  19. Yep. Have had the same great service myself. Not only did they try to cheat and lie to me, they were arrogant at the same time. Complete waist of time and money. Would only deal with Torque Performance now, they are expensive but they actually know what they are doing.
  20. Sounds like you do a bit of driving, in that case cross Continentals off your list unless you are prepared tpo spend the cars value on tyres every year, the Sport Contact Five has a higher wear ratting than the Three and the Three's are shocking! I only ended up getting 15,000km out of the Continental Sport Contact III's, they were a great tyre and very quite but at $3,600 a set that's $7,200 a year in tyres for my daily driver, more than I spend on motorsport tyres! Have replaced them with Toyo Proxes T1 Sport's at about half the price, they are not as good as the Continentals but they are not far off them, unfortunately they are a bit noisier so I would not recommend these if you are after a quite tyre. The only other tyre available in NZ I would consider is the Good Year F1 Asymmetric, these are priced well and rate highly.
  21. That is crazy, why would they steal and uneven number of tyres! Will keep an eye out Jono and mention to my local tyre guy who knows everyone, are you the only importer of that brand??
  22. Agree its a mismatch one has two doors and AWD, the other is RWD and has 4-doors, but both are the respected manufacturers flagships and fastest cars both manufacturers offer, both are twin turbo and both cost near the same in mother England, both are very heavy and very big. Whats scary is that the Nissan is 6 years old and the BMW is brand new... its the same old argument though.
