Quality. I like the new and improved Henry. Although Prado’s are quite capable. I agree, there should be a picture of a Prado not a Full Fat Cruiser. I would take a new Disco, Toyota’s are yuck.

It’s scary alright, the NZ public freak out when they get passed, any moving object faster than them is deemed dangerous and scarry. I had a lady call me the other day (sign written car + cell phone camera) to complain about my staffs (me) driving stating that they were speeding and driving like a crazy post people. Seems me having my cruise control set to 110kph on the motorway blew her mind, more so that I went around her and her husband in their lovely “king of the road†red Commodore sitting in the passing lane for no apparent reason.

The RS250 has cleaned up every contest it has entered, EVO, MOTOR, WHEELS, CAR, TOPGEAR, FITHGEAR all rate it best hot hatch, better than the Focus RS, Sirocco and Golf R's WRX STI Cosworth, so thats saying something. Its been pushed back until April now as they in such high global demand, Australia took all of our allocation and they still cant get enough. Do want.

Cheers Brent. Its been for sale for quite some time. I think I would rather the new Megane for that money. www.renaultsport.co.nz

Also. From Smits Group nationwide. Posh-pile mats. These are lush. http://www.poshpile.com/eng/buy-online/ Apparently they do all BMW’s and from what I saw they are nicer than OEM.

Actually. If you could replace the E30 with your car in this scene of my favourite movie. Pretty women. That would be awesome.

How did you get 2 people to agree. Just +1 for me, my workmate thinks it looks great and has never seen Photoshop. I was thinking. Can you put it here,i t would look tough as. Well just like out side my South Auckland Crib.

OT but happy Top Gear is only a few weeks behind on Telly now. I don’t even have to bother down loading them anymore. I like last night’s episode on telly in HD. Brings back my Sunday ritual.

From what I can figure the east west configuration gearbox works as a beefy transfer case as such, Toyota Windom gearboxes are popular also, im not technically mined enough to explain, best have a look at one and it would become clearer. Cool project.

Keep an eye here for results. http://www.concours.org.nz/index.html The little mini was mint. Makes me want to start a project.

That’s OEM on the sport evo my friend, lots of little details are changed on that model, its wider guards, lower and higher spoilers, even things like extra rubber mouldings aid drag co-efficiency between panel gaps. Most people don’t understand the amount of awesome the Sport Evo is, just looks like a E30 M3 but they are developed quite a bit farther than the regular M3. To be honest I didn’t even notice there were any other BMW’s on the stand, I just stood there drooling at that one car. The BMW stand is always boring, as said above BMW’s are for driving not for showing and they are not the sort of car that stops you at a show, you can se 2,000 BMW’s and Manukau shopping mall every day of the week.

The Speed SIX was cool, wicked paint. Best club stand IMHO was the Mini stand, the are a cool club! Oh and my wife thinks I need to work harder and by a V12 Vantage, something about a Modern Aston with a proper stick shifter.

And compared to my other build costs $160 is loose change. The word Motorsport is like the word Wedding, when sales people here it I swear everything doubles in cost.
-
Probably is expensive. Like I said, it’s a very nice bracket powder coated black and sits under the front seat rails. They did it overnight and it looks OEM. You get what you pay for and when you want quality in a hurry you pay for it. Just an option.

You dont see many Genuine Black Evo Sports at Race Meets. Great show, spend a few hours but started burning in the sun, what a day! My favourites. E30 M3 Sport Evo Lancia Stratos Rep 360 Challenge GT3 RS (but needed Orange wheels) Lotus Exige (SEXIGE) Will post a few images up tomorrow.

Trackday, Saturday 12th March 2011 at Hampton Downs
Apex replied to Hi-Tek's topic in Track Day Events
I will be racing Targa that day. There is a day on the 24th of FEB, a Thursday if anyone is keen. Very small group at $200 each. I will be there doing some testing along with quite a few other Targa cars/ Let me know if anyone is keen and I shal point you in the direction of the man in charge. -
Quick question. Who owns this now? Please PM me if you could. Thanks Graham

That’s what I had done. Go a 2.0 or bigger extinguisher if you can Ian, that way you know its good for any motorsport events in NZ. A 1kg will do though and you can always mount as second if needed. Talk to the guys at Hi_Tech motorsport in Drury for a mounting bracket, they made me up a beautiful mount for $160. Looks OEM.

Sorry I didn't word that very well. In my case the witness was a Police officer, what surprises me is that the Police would take a mater to court going on the word of the public, they should have simply contacted you and told you off at worst. They cant do anything. As P-jay has said, a simple letter get to the bottom of most said offenses.

Lol people are still playing this! I gave up after a few weeks… when it come down to how much life you wanted to waist in front of a TV, it’s just so monotonous and a complete waist of time. The game requires no skill just an ability to sit on your ars for long amounts of time. May dust her off in winter but I’ll be f**ked if im going to do any endurance races.

They are chips new. Once again it hasn’t actually been crash tested by NCAP or ANCAP so we can’t judge it. These scummy people that shop at the warehouse, or your average Kiwi know it’s not a 5 star safety car and they don’t expect it to be at half the cost. It’s cheap. Brand new and has a three year warranty. Most average Kiwi’s would rather shop at the warehouse for new shoes than wear scummy old ten year old designer hand me downs
-
Easy to say from your perch up there. The car itself with be reliable and durable, probably more so than your 150,000 BMW if friends experiences with New BMW’s is anything to go by, all of them are constantly back at the dealers, one guy recons he has spent more time in BMW’s loaner cars than his own brand new BMW. They may not be as safe as brand new Euro but they are as safe as the 10 year old bottom feeder Japanese import equivalent.

Is this for real, I have had a fair amount of run ins with my friends the Police and it from what I have experienced your story does not add up. If they have no evidence or even a photo of you in the car they can’t do sh*t and im very very surprised that it is going to court and if it is you have nothing to wary about if you are in fact innocent and there is no evidence of you being a f**kwit. Last time I was taken to court for sustained loss of traction the case was thrown out and the cop was reprimanded as he had absolutely no evidence and did not ticket me at the time of the innocent. He was laughed at. Even with Police taken photographic evidence of your car it wont go to court unless they can prove your speed or if you were in fact even driving. I don’t think we have the whole story from you. Oh and the judge won’t give a f**k about your cars ability to do skids or reliability problems. Trust me . He won’t care so you are focusing on it from completely the wrong angle on the outset. I have a lawyer I can recommend but you may have to sell your car to cover his costs.

NCAP have not even tested it, its not even in their (Europe's) market. Looking at the crash data a few model dont do too bad and would score a few stars. Half the members cars on Bimmersport would score 0 out of 5 though. How do we think a E30 or E28 would fair. A E34 not much better. Food for thought.

f**k my wife is a top NZ marketer and she laughed her head off as loud as I did. Don't want to make it one of "those" threads but they should switch focus from speeding and highlight the fact 7 out of 10 Kiwi's cant handle their car at even the speed limit and drive as if they are half asleep..
