We drove a few of each and settled on the 545i, they are a good $10,000 more expensive on average though so im not sure it’s a fair comparison. If it were a non M kitted E60 it would be a hard decision for me if there was 10k in it. The SWB 745i with the active sway bars is not so far off the 545i dynamically and is a much better cruiser, better if you like SH1. The E60 is not as a dynamic car as you would believe though, especially on kiwi roads, our M was a willowy mess as soon at the pace was turned up and could not out run a hatch back on a typical Kiwi back road or anything twisty. I think the extra money for a good 545i will pay back in the long run, the E65 will be worth a bag of apples in three weeks (like the old seven) where the E60 will be a bit more desirable, the E60 is a newer generation car also and has fewer components so will be cheaper to service.. but still no bargain and if its near 100,000km it will soon start falling apart like most modern BMW's do. The 545i is a fantastic all rounder, its every car to every man and does everything well, buy a NZ new car with a FSH and look after if properly and it will serve you well for years. 2c.

This is annoying when you are out of Auckland or even in a part of town you don't know. I had my car tuned to run it (see supercharge E39 535i thread) and were constantly playing chicken with the fuel light.. it didn't help that when the car was refitted with larger injectors its fuel gage was way out also Im not sure V-Power is making my car very Ferrari like but as Pjay says, they have fly buys...but BP have great Coffee and better looking staff. Its tough. Fuel economy tip: I walk to work and save a sh*t load every week, my tip is to try and find work close to home, you will save hours of your life bettering your life quality and literally thousands of dollars every year that you waist going to and from the place you earn it. Counter productive. Oh and coast.. coasting saves crap loads, who cares if you are holding that sales rep in a Mazda 6 up from stopping to wait faster.

Run 95 if it recommends you do so, as said running 91 will cost more in the long run. I would not worry about your car blowing up though. I ran mine on 110 over a couple of tanks and consumption went up so it cuts both ways.

Worth a drive. Buy ex demo and save the 10k you will lose in the first 12 months, in saying that there is a huge waiting list for ex demo. If you don't actually drive fast whats the point of a RS4?? And even then they are not that fast. You bastard. We are still waiting in NZ
